Swiss Transports, a photo from Vaud, West

Photographer's Note

the Swiss are world champions in km per person in using the train. The Swiss railway system is one of the best in the world with a train link to almost every village. Where there is no train, a well thought trough bus system takes over. As the Swiss are ardent cyclist as well, it is no problem to take your bike on a train also (see the sign on the train).
With the many lakes, taking a boat ride on one of the lakes is one of Switzerlands most liked pasttime.
So in this picture we combine some of the Swiss most loved modes of transport aside hiking.

this country of yours is certainly on the list of to-visit-places! one day I'll get here.
and for sure hiking the mountains is a must aswell.

and who knows, taking a train too!
love these trains.
you had to deal with alot of harsh white skyline here, so its hard to end up with a 100% well lit shot.
despite the bad conditions, i like what i see.

Hi Daniel, It is good to know that the public transport in Switzerland is so well organized. Railways are for me the best . And boats are pleasant too. But what about prizes?? Aren't the trains very expensive? I would like to use trains, boats and hiking (I do not ride a bike) but I'm afraid I couldn't afford it.

Hi Daniel,
what a lovely presentation with an interesting message.
I like in particular the fog above the lake far in the distance. At the same time the foreground is clear and sharp. Great composition with spectacular view on the horizon and a diagonally aligned train in the foreground.

A very pleasing composition and informative note as well. I like the way the band of mist on the horizon looks to be almost illuminated from within. You have captured the scene well despite the fairly bright harsh sunlight.

Wonderful with light the fog about the lake, this care for a nice mountain landscape picture.

A beautiful image to show the comparisons of different types of transport, the train looks like it might be racing the ship. That mist in the distance is beautiful too, I would image this train journey would be a real pleasure for a photographer.

Impressive challenging shot into the strong light of this lively dynamic compo, as the train creates an immense long perspective with strong diagonal lines. Very well detailed image taken from such excellent pov that also enhances the depth then recedes nicely into the distant, and the ferry boat is lovely touch. A delightful with some spakles on the water. Fine effort my friend, Congrats.

questa tua composizione è gradevole perchè hai saputo unire la dinamicità del treno (che hai composto correttamente in diagonale) e la quiete del lago, maggiormente accentuata dalla leggera foschia che si solleva da esso.
Molto bella anche la successione di colori che va dal verde intenso della campagna alle varie sfumature d'azzurro del cielo e del lago, mentre il treno con i raggi del sole che si riflettono sul suo tetto, fa da divisore tra le due tinte.
Sicuramente una bella situazione ripresa in maniera eccellente

Hi Daniel,

Train travel can be long and tedious at times, but I have never had a trip through Switzerland that I didn't enjoy...in fact,I've always looked forward to it. Clean, efficient and punctual with stunning views throughout the country, the Swiss should be very proud indeed! This is a lovely display of just how close the train travels along Lac Léman and the kind of view that's offered. It almost feels as if I'm there now, great vantage point for this composition. I especially like the morning mist on the horizon, sure makes for a wonderful atmosphere. Difficult lighting to manage here but you've done a very nice job keeping the highlights from being completely blown out.
