Twilight at Pully Photo

Photographer’s Note

This was taken one warm September evening while standing on the shore of Lake Geneva at a park in the town of Pully. There was a sailboat festival and the boats were just coming in as night was falling. This gentleman was using the twilight to try to catch a few fish.

I took this with my compact Exilim digital before I decided to invest in any serious equipment. I'd like to get another shot at this image with what I have now.

Beautiful strongly toned sunset by this great lake. Those colurful sails look very nice, and silhouette of the fisherman adds interest.

Hi Sandy,

I like the warm colors in this photo. The sailboats still manage to show some color despite the fading light. That sailboat looks like it got speared by the fishing pole; maybe a shift in POV or waiting for the boat to pass by would have been helpful.

What a composition Sandy!! A pleasant theme and a desicive moment! The sunset colours look just perfect! The figure adds a lot to your picture and the sailboats "steal our hearts".Such a wonderful picture!

Hello Sandy,
Lake Geneva is quite interesting. This shot is lovely with the silhoutte and the yachts. Still rendering the good colours anf beautiful shape. I only wish you wait for a few moment to let the man to move his fishing rod a bit of the lone sail.
I still like the shot. I have been to this lake and the surrounding towns, yes they are photogenic.
