The beginning of autumn on altitude is always beautiful. The contrast between the first snow and the golden larches is striking. This picture has been taken on the Moosalp in Valais, situated at altitude 2000m.

Hallo Anne,
jetzt bin ich ein wenig durcheinander. Ist das Bild im Oktober 2005 oder gestern entstanden? Jedenfalls haben die Wetterfrösche die nächsten Tage ziemlich kaltes Wetter vorhergesagt und sollte es dazu auch noch Niederschlag geben wird mir der Schnee selbst auf 600 m nicht erspart bleiben. Der Farbkontrast zwischen den goldenen Lärchen und dem weissen Schnee ist wirklich sehenswert.

Hi Anne.
Looks like we both have found the joy of the first snow. As you say, it's always a beautiful sight in these altitudes. The contrast between the white mountains and the green/yellow trees are outstanding. I like the composition and the swiss landscape. But maybe a bit too much noise in the picture or a little too low resolution?

Salut Anne,c'est la photo du changement...particulierement pour nous qui aimons les papillons,les fleurs et les insects...et bien..c'est fini :-( aussi chez moi il fait froid,demain j'irai faire le dernier tour avant que Jeudi la temperature ira tomber a 0...mes compliments pour ce tres beau et un peu triste preview de l'hiver,bon Mardi,LUCIANO
