I did two versions of this image & posted the shot in colour last year & At the time I remember I was not certain of which one I should present???
Sometimes it can be hard to make a decision - therefore - I have decided to post the same image only this time in black & White.
It was a highlight of our visit to Switzerland to photograph this amazing iconic mountain - please enjoy!!!!

This is beautiful picture of a very very nice mountain.
The point of view is very good.
In my opinion, this B&W version is too dark. The white parts seems to be light grey, not white.

B&W format is trully a more balanced WB on photo, Dawn.
Well applied this version, the landscape is awesome in any texture - its outlines shown superbly, contrast and DOF maintained.
Have a nice new week,

The sticker is strange and full size picture is more beautiful, but I wonder if you do not have a little strength on the filter ...

very nice the B/W snowy scenery this edge of the Mt. to dominating the scene.I like the excellent light management as the wild beaty of the scene.Well done.

You can not find monochrome photos of this famous mountain. You have captured it from excellent perspective. Nice contrast against dark sky in background.
Very well done.

I remember this one in color too, a very impressive mountain with a rough mood about it. I usually prefer color shots to those in black and white (I just love color:)), but here I'd say this conversion adds even more severity to the scene. So I guess both versions are good for me.
Thanks and have a great busy time:)!

Nice attempt and strong picture in B&W. You managed to have got a wonderful balance of light and shades but the eye is fully focused on the textures of the peak and this works well in mono which sometimes gives us a cleaner image and less confusion to the eyes that makes us notice things instantaneously that we don't notice with colour but the impact can be great. It's crispy sharp, some strong tones and contrast. Great work and Congrats

This looks stunning in black and white, it seems to bring out the detail of its formation so well, and it really highlights the snow making this feel like a very cold image. And that is perfectly suited to this place. Is it possible to have a portrait of a mountain? If so, this is a beauty of the form.

Good afternoon, this afternoon.
For me it is 07.18. hours.
Nice view of the mountains and a second with a cloud ...
Good time recording, sharpness and contrast nicely demonstrated mountains with snow and moment.
Nice afternoon and all the best in the new week that started, good luck.

Hi dear Dawn,
black & white provides a high dramatic atmosphere into this iconic mountain, so well known in the whole world. Its sharp profile in the view from Zermatt is amazingly beautiful, and your framing caught all this beauty very efficiently.
It's a direct and explicit glance on the most famous mountain in the world.
A nice work.

For me B&W was a good choice by you. Wonderful depth, composition and sense of height. I have often wondered what combination of circumstances caused this peak to be there in the first place and to stand out as it does. This image is a real pleasure to view. Thank you and best wishes.

Belle idée du N/B, le contraste est excellent, la montagne est impressionnante, c'est une belle version, mais j'ai une préférence pour celle en couleurs

You're capturing well this mountain by a good angle and excellent B/W tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see The Matterhorn with a severe surface and peculiar shape. I feel that it turns out that this mountain charms a mountaineer for years. It's good at B/W contrat, and floating clouds draws out a good impact.

The Swiss airline began promoting a twice weekly service between Switzerland and Las Vegas beginning May 5th and they are using the Matterhorn for their ads. It would nice to see the real mountain instead of the one in Disneyland, maybe someday I'll the real one. Awesome capture of this world famous mountain! I can almost hear the wind blowing through the mountain and I spot bird flying at the bottom. Good pov and nice details. Well done, tfs.
