Photographer's Note
The monks from the monastery on the Passo Grand St. Bernardo began using dogs for search and rescue in the 17th century. Dog's main advantages have always been a warm coat, which protects from the cold, snow and ice, as well as an unusually acute sense of smell for finding people in the deep snow. Now about 20 dogs live in the nursery. They are the property of the "Barry foundation"
