Photographer’s Note

Today I went skiing, for a change. We were in Graechen from where you get the most beautiful views. From Greachen you are able to see Matterhorn and the Aletsch Glacier and many more mountains in Switzerland. On this photo you see Weisshorn. It is about 4600 meters high and a very beautiful mountain. I was there a few days ago too. On that day the sky was more blue than today, it was unfortunably a bit hazy today.

Nice alpine shot Allan, I like the "depth" and contrast between foreground and background. (Maybe some frame is missing) Good work.

Wow - too bad I seldom comment your pictures - the DOF and sharpness of this really fantastic. I think the blue haze in combination with cliff at the right whats make this shot special. Very good work Allan.

Again, a very nice picture. I like the sharp contrast of the rock against the Weisshorn. It almost looks like you can touch the Weisshorn! I'm looking forward to your next pictures!

ah wow....the Weisshorn I actually climbed this mountain once in my younger days.
Exposure and dof are great. In my feeling there is something wrong with the balance in the composition. I feel the piece of rock on the right is too big
maybe a portrait shot were we were allowed a bit more view into the valley would ad to the scale of the shot.

Very beautiful photo. The constrast of the brown rock on the foreground with the light colors on the bkackground is excellent. The photo is very sharp, too.

add a cold breath to the picture and you can almost feel if you where there...
very nice picture, i like it a lot.(even though i have enough snow here) i like the details on the rock in the right, but would have removed the white stripe in the clouds with PS or other... but great picture!

A nice tightly compressed perspective, I have allways liked that kind of pictures. And compared to the following posting I think this one wins. The contrast of bare rock on close distant to the far snowy mountain is great. Out of points!
