Le lac de Derborence est le plus jeune lac naturel de Suisse. Il a été créé en 1749 par l'éboulement d'une paroi rocheuse sous le Glacier des Diablerets. En 1714, un premier éboulement avait déjà obstrué en grande partie la vallée.

The Derborence Lake is the youngest natural lake in Switzerland. It was created in 1749 by the fall of a rock face from the Glacier des Diablerets. In 1714, a first landslide obstructed the valley.
