Photographer's Note

at long last we are arriving at the top of the Bettmerhorn at an altitude of almost 3000m (9000 feet). Typical for a Swiss mountain is what you will find on top of it. This modern building is the summit restaurant from witch one has a stunning view over the surounding alps. And after all, one has merrited a cold beer after the long walk up the mountain.

Good reward to have a cold beer after long climbing. But was it there not too cold? Interesting modern architecture of this restaurant, great graphic impression against the rocky peaks. it seems indeed that UFO landed there.

Hi Daniel,
A surreal and unexpected image, I love it! The last thing I would expect to see here is this building, but you have a wonderful capture of it here, as t really works well in the image. I love the soft focus on the rocks to the left and the pin sharp focus on the restaurant itself. An amazing place to have a beer I would think, and some view.

This is a fascinating view. I think the photo has a slightly green tone that could have been reduced, otherwise it's a fine composition with great sharpness on the strange restaurant and the distant peaks.

You've really created a good sense of depth with the various layers of this shot, Daniel. The building itself is gloriously out of place, but the view must be spectacular - any shots from inside, after enjoying the cold beer?
