Photographer’s Note

Solothurn is a small provincial capital between Bern and Basel. It is called the city of Baroque due to its many buildings dating from this area. It is a beautiful and pleasant city full of beautiful buildings, intersting details, pleasant restaurants, café's and hotels and a great relaxed atmosphere.
Here is a view over the altstadt seen from the other side of the Aare, the river that's quite broad here.

There were two views I was hesitating to pick. I'll sent the other as a workshop. The prominent building there is the Landhaus, a huge winedistributing centre.

Zozo, even snel naar Swiss op en neer geweest ;-)
Mooi standpunt hier met wel hele frisse en heldere kleuren waardoor de foto meteen naar een hoger plan wordt getrokken. Scherpte is subliem, net als je kleursetting. Die bomen links en rechts geven er een mooi natuurlijk kader aan, zoiets mag ik graag zien. Mooie foto, vooral vanwege je standpunt en detailering.

Switzerland is one of my favorite destinations here at TE!
Although I've already been there in 2005, of course, I couldn't see everything! Here, I see the places I visited again and also take a look at a lot more, like this picture of yours, so nicely taken!
I really like both the POV and the composition with the sky, river, fine architecture and vegetation!
The note is also really informative!

This is a well composed photo well framed by the trees. The reflection adds nice depth and balance to the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

the dark framing by the trees and the bank on this side let the other bank and its buildings really shine in this one. Wonderful clear view with good colours and sharpness, the reflections add also to the mood.

I am a big fan of the use of natural frames and so prefer this to the one in the WS, although that is also a good image. As well as the trees on each side, the shaded foreground also provides framing, which works well for the overall composition. Reflections are another big favourite with me, so you are onto a definite winner here. Well done

So you came to Switzerland...
Guess what I live one hour away from Solothurn and I've never been there, it's a quite obscure place in Switzerland. You've found a good pov to the city skyline and showing reflection but I thing your photo lacks a bit of highlights.

Excellent view through dark part of shore. Reflections and colors are stunning under well managed lights. Perfect clarity and sharpness in natural colors. Sky and terracotta roof tiles, domes are wonderful with rich facades. Congratulations.

Nice how the natural frame done by the trees and the floor is much darker than the actual scene, naking it pop out even more... Light and colors are good, sharp and nice little reflections. Rhe scene is architecturally interesting as well.

The waterway separating the darker shade of FG which is also used nicely as frame, and the brightly lit buildings on the other side, has given this view a good calm and peaceful mood, under nice blue sky with clouds and a jet trail. Nice DOF and well composed shot.

J'apprécie les différentes architectures photographiées à partir d'un bon point de vue. Les couleurs sont très appréciables.
Je pense qu'il aurrait fallu se rapprocher un peu plus pour avoir le plan d'eau entièrement sur l'avant-plan.

Beautiful catch of sight on this pretty village. I like much contrasts of lights and this foreground in back-light which offers a good framing to the photograph. The colors are pleasant. The point of view in WS gives us a beautiful prospect. Pretty and interesting series, thank you Gerrit.
