An extract of a sculpture in the cemetary of Schönenwerd, a small village of Solothurn.
I decided to go for a walk there after having heard that the father of a friend died. We were at his funeral a month ago, and (for a born Muslim like me)it was such an impressive funeral that I wanted to visit this (Christian) cemetary again...which I did on April 9.
There were a lot of old, beautiful sculptures, everyone demonstrating the youth: the most beautiful time of life. And near the young girls`/angels` sculptures were all gravestones, remembering the visitor on death and the passing time.
I think the artist who made this scupture tried to unite two totally different things: youth and eternity .
That`s what you can see on this photo: a young (female) hand touching an immortal stone.
I hope you like the scene... |

Hi Ferhat,
An impressive composition. It's very well framed. You have achieved an astonishing effect to have the upper part of the statue cropped away.
Thanks,
Christian
Dear Ferhat
Very impressive detailed picture about a cemetary. The green leafs gives a vivid element to the cold stone. Well done. My best regards. ihsan
Hallo Ferhat,
