Photographer’s Note
It was worth the short uphill exertion off the piste through the snow in cumbersome ski shoes. The view was unexpected but not unfamiliar – rather like the surprise of seeing an old friend! We spent the day skiing in Meiringen-Hasliberg, from where I was not expecting this bonus view over to the ski area of Melchsee-Frutt which seemed so far below. I stood for some while to take in all the details – the network of ski lifts and the tiny ant-like skiers, the various lakes, peaks and valleys. I even forgot that I had come for a day’s skiing, and would happily have spent longer just admiring the view.
The flat area in the middle is the lake of Melchsee, which leads beyond it and to the right to Tannensee, and yet a third lake, Engstlensee, shaded in the valley further on, beyond which lies the ski area of Engelberg. To the left is the Melchtal valley, and in the further distance the lake of Sarnersee.
This is a stitch of 6 vertical shots assembled using Autostitch.

Hello Susanna,
The large version is really spectacular with all the little houses on the snowfields. Your pov with on both sides mountains which are lying in the shadows create good depth in the valley below which is bathing in sunlight....i like that effect.
Are you still skiing or working? ;-)

Salut StitchingTerror,

I didn`t miss snow the last seven weeks, but this panorama looks great and has a fantastic sharpness overall. Many nice details and brilliant colors.
I hope I will see no snow this winter.

Susanna,
where you skiing or photographing? With such a wonderful weather and nice outlook it must have been difficult to decide what to do, although seeing that this is a stitch of 6 images I get the impression that you put much more effort in taking shots versus skiing. Perfect composition with the mountains framing the whole scene from both sides.
See you soon!

Just awesome! The frozen lake in the center looks incredibly calm surrounded by mountain tops. Perfect sky too!

Salut Susanna,

Su - the large size version is just a delight to view. Top details and sharpness, good stitching - like being there. Great landscape in the well disposed setting and compo - a fine example of using the panorama opportunity at TE

Perfect stitch Susanna, I like how the panorama spreads from the highest peaks to the plains, with a smidgen of lowland lake visible near the left edge, the frozen surface of the other lake makes an interesting void in the snow textures.
(I've heard messages bouncing back from some other members, and also TAP airlines had the same complaint, over the years this is the first time this happened, hopefully just a temporary glitch)
