Back in the Village Photo

Photographer’s Note

Alpnachstad is the village sitting on the Obwalden canton side of the Pilatus, one of the top excursions to do in Central Switzerland (have to confess I haven't been there yet...), it's a nice small village where only the cogwheel railway operations to lift the tourists to the Pilatus perturbates the quietness. The village itself features some nice massive Central Swiss rural houses, such as the ones on this photo.

Hi Jean-Yves,
Again I see a photo opportunity I missed (while being too busy to get some siesta). Swiss wood architecture at it's best. Unbelievable clarity on such strong light. Some of the shadow could be cropped off.
One note: Pilatusbahn is not a funicular, but a genuine cogwheel railway. And as such, steepest in the world.

Bonjour Jean Yves,
On sent en effet bien la tranquilité dans cette vue d'un village typique suisse. De jolies couleurs et un superbe ciel(qui apparemment est toujours présent actuellement:-). Des zones d'ombre qui contrastent bien avec la partie ensoleillée.

Un petit village tranquille dans le canton d'Obwald !
L'image aurait mérité un petit redressement, je sais que le canton d'Obwald est valloné mais tout de même ! ;-)
Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de vent pour agiter ce drapeaux suisse sur la droite !

Même si tu nous as déjà proposé de plus belles photos des villages suisses, on retrouve ici ta quète du ciel bleu et ton amour des couleurs. Je ne suis quand même pas excessivement fan de cette ombre envahissante du premier plan.

Wonderful colour & sharpness. Perhaps I would dodge the fg shadows, to reveal a little more detail, but apart from that, a perfect shot! Merci pour le partage!

tres beau village,
les couleurs sont sublime.
je trouve egalement qu'il aurai fallut redresser l'image .
et cette partie d'ombre au premier plan me gene un peu .

Tu as raison de le faire remarquer, les maisons suisses de montagne sont massives et immenses. Belle prise à une période et un moment propice aux belles couleurs.

A very difficult picture for me. For me that large piece of shadow disturbes the whole scenery and for me myself absolute not acceptable as a keeper.
That you post such an image is showing guts ;-)
If have seen much and much better ones from you, and i know you've got them also.
If you not agree with my light green than feel free to respond.
