It's difficult to describe the impression of verticality that you feel on the Pilatus Railway, the more steepest cogwheel railway in the world.

C'est difficile de décrire l'impression de verticalité que vous essayez sur la voie ferrée du Mont Pilate, le chemin de fer à crémaillère le plus pentu du monde.

POV quasi da torcicollo :))
Mi piace l'inserimento del treno rosso. Oltre a dare dinamicità alla scena, il suo colore acceso crea un bel contrasto con il resto d'insieme.

Bobo,
This is a nicely composed shot with the train perfectly framed in the center of the shot. The vertical format allows us to see the height of the scene along with close up detail. The people add a sense of scale for the shot.
The lighting and colors are great as is the sharpness and detail.

Hi Bobo,
Steepness of the railway shows well on this picture. Wide angle also provides great view up the mountain slope. It's a great achievevement of engineering, especially when you think it was opened 1889.
This lower terminus is in the village of Alpnachstad, which is in the canton of Obwalden.

Hello Bobo!
I was in Luzern, but only spent one day there, in wintertime... it was very pleasant, the city is very, very nice! Then I took a boat ride in the lake and that was so pleasant too! I heard of the Pilatus railway, but didn't have the chance to go there! Saw many pictures that were taken up in its top and that's so wonderful! However, had never seen its start line (station)! That's why I love this picture, besides its very good photo qualities!

interesting the snapshot of the red cogwheel railway that 'climb' on the hill.Here in Greece there is one more interesting cogwheel railway,that cross over Mts and gorge.Well done.

la collocazione del treno rosso è perfetta, mi chiedo se fosse fermo o se hai aspettato il momento giusto per scattare (propendo per questa seconda tesi).
Molto bella la composizione verticale ed i colori perfettamente saturi.

La cosa che mi ha attirato subito, forse per il contrasto del rosso, è vedere come gli svizzeri si siano preoccupati di progettare i finestrini della carrozza perpendicolari al suolo e non alla cremagliera, formando una piacevole linea a zig-zag. Foto ricca di dettagli e spunti fotografici, ben realizzati come ci hai sempre abituato! Bravo, Bobo!

Ciao Bobo. Un POV nato per esaltare la verticalità e diagonali. Dal tetto della stazioncina, al trenino -in cotrasto straordinario- alla facciata della casa ai talicci- appena visibili- alla parete rocciosa. Ottimo il cielo

Une excelent composition verticale et joliment colorée avec évidemment la couleur rouge du funiculaire qui "calque" dans l'image. J'aime beaucoup l'effet graphique provoqué par l'agencement des différents éléments. Une présentation très orginale, bravo.

Faut pas que la machine lache, sinon attention la descente !!! Un cadrage efficace avec un succession de plans intéressants et colorés jusqu'aux sommets. Une lumière estivale idéale pour illuminée cette composition originale. Bien vu Bobo.

Bonsoir Bobo,

La prise de vue du bas vers le haut donne de la profondeur à la composition. La présence des personnes a un effet d'échelle de grandeur. La composition est bien divisé, le village, la montagne et le ciel. Une bonne gestion de la lumière qui rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Very nice use of verticle. Nice colours. Nice sharpness.Clever composition.
As the eye moves upwards there is a different type of scenery all the way from the rail platform up to the fabulous blue skyscape. I love the strong splash of reds in the bottom half. Thanks for the note also.
