The sheep of the Jura mountains, a small mountain range in north-western Switzerland, sharing a border with France, are not bothered by the arctic sub zero temperatures of winter.
Traditionally the village of La Brevine, roughly 24 km west of Neuchâtel, is the coldest spot found in Switzerland with temperatures dropping to minus 40 every winter. Thus the village is apply named the Siberia of Switzerland.

Whereas I think, "Poor sheep, it'll get a tummy-ache," the sheep might be thinking "Yummy grass sorbet!" As you wrote, they must be used to frost-covered grass.
Happy New year to you, too!

Impossible not to smile seeing this poor sheep on the frozen ground. Nice shot in pale blue.
Happy New Year to you and your family

une photo intéressante avec une bonne utilisation de la lumière; un photo simple, d'un bon impact avec la présence du mouton et de l'arbre.
Bon dimanche et bonne année à toi également.

really like this! Original and minimalist but full of atmosphere and fascination. A creative and compelling study, well done.

That does look cold, and the stripes of light and shade make it seem even more so! I do pity the sheep, but I have to laugh at the grass sorbet comment above :) A nice simple and effective composition.
Best wishes, and happy new year!

Oh! poor fella must be cold even with that woolly coat but I love the light and glistening frost on the field. Detail is excellent and good clarity, I think you did your best of the situation although I feel it looks slightly blueish than actual. It's a fine effort regardless. Congrats

I visited your gallery today and I chose
this shot I was suprised by looking at
this poor sheep but according to your
notes those sheep must be used living
