Photographer’s Note
After having climbed the stairs to the top of the Geneva cathedral we came to an observation place offering great views onto the city and the lake. Some of my friends have already posted this general view, so I chose to go for a slightly different one showing it as seen through these architectural details.

Tiens, tiens, j'ai déjà vu ça quelque part! ;o)

Bon dimanche

I like the superb sharpness lighting & color. Good framing of the bg fountain, with the fg arch at right. Bon dimanche!

Hello Jean Yves,
Bien vu

Excellent idea, Jean Yves, to present your picture in this way...it's like three images in one! Perfect sharpness through the portals, but the brickwork is very slightly off focus which allows full emphasis on the scenery beyond. Inspired inclusion of the water fountain to add interest and movement. Well done. Vicky

Hi Jean-Yves
This type of shot is one that I have tried many times and never quite managed to pull it off. Excellent detail of the scenery behind.

Bon dimanche - Paul

Great idea, and very well executed! I like the triple window, with the city visible through them. The water jet visible in the third one is a nice touch. I also like the detail in window frames, which is better than just black outlines. Great job!

Hello JY - it is impossible to view, let alone comment on every Geneva shot from your meeting, I think this one, (and the "Moby" shot :-)) stands out, the 3 part view through fantastic, and theere is remarkable detail on the wall used as a frame, I missed most of the other Geneva shots, so will follow the link and take a better look now.

Hi Jean Yves, this is a nice and different perspective overlooking the city. I like the composition and the strong contrast between the grey clerestory like window and the colourful city below. Beau travail!

Salut Jean-Yves,
Merci !
Mes amitiés/Pierre

Hi Jean-Yves. This sure is a fun shot. You did well in PP to get the exposure balanced. It looks like you had to drop the brightness of the highlights a fair bit. But the result is excellent. tfs JY!

JY,
being creative eh? Id say that the details we lose from the city due to the bars are more than made up for with this unusual view. Also, I think the teasing view that you show us creates a bigger impact visually. Its like a woman, one is always sexier when she covers up strategically. Same here. The view is better because we arent given all of it.

Hi Jean Yves,
A well composed shot from a superb POV. The view through the windows is like a watercolour painting. You also captured the high fountain in the water in the distance. The pastel colours really enhance and make us think of warmth and leisure. Great capture.
