Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken from the village of Murren looking out over the Alps on a brilliant June morning.
Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,413 ft.) above sea level and unreachable by public road. Tourism is popular through the summer and winter; the village features a view of the three towering mountains: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Mürren has a population of just 450, but has 2,000 hotel beds.
Mürren has its own school and two churches, one Reformed and one Roman Catholic.
A series of four cable cars, known as the Luftseilbahn Stechelberg-Mürren-Schilthorn (LSMS), provides transportation from Mürren downhill to Gimmelwald and Stechelberg, and uphill to the summit of the Schilthorn and the revolving restaurant Piz Gloria. This was a principal filming location for the James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service, released in 1969.
Mürren is also connected to Lauterbrunnen by the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren, which consists of a narrow gauge railway and a connecting aerial tramway. Mürren is also the lower terminus of the Allmendhubelbahn funicular. (Wiki)

Hello Asa,

I love the pov of this shot which suggests the steep slope of the hilside from the rapidly receding roofs.
The greenery and the roof garden, in the f/g, bears a strong contrast with the icy, rugged peaks in the b/g.
Great light and saturation.

What a fantastic day and a perfect view of the Alps from the Swiss side, which I find even more special with its typical style of houses in such natural setting. Perfect clarity, great sharpness, well managed colors and light, good contrast nothing too dark or too strong. Excellent composition. My complement and congratulation. Hi Asa,

The trees are framing well the buildings. The point of view leads our eyes toward the Alps in the background which is giving depth to the composition. It is also allowing us to see the details and colors of the buildings. The prsence of the peolple is adding life to the scenery. Tne intensity of the light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Lovely capture of these lovely now capped peaks that are seen in extremely sharp detail.
Love how the rooftops are so near the top far from the narrow valley.
Very lively true colors to this fine alpine shot.

hello !

It's really a wonderfull picture with a so beautiful point of view. However I think there is a little problem in the sky. At the upper right blue color is too dark.
Anyway it's a very beautiful picture !

Hi Asa,
Probably two paradises exists in the Earth, one can be a Caribbean beach, and other one can be any Alpine landscape as this one.
It is a very attractive photo, the houses of the village dominate the valley and offer us an impressive sight on the Alps of the Berner Oberland.
Is a place where I might be very happy at this moment.
