steep slopes, a photo from Bern, West

this is another picture from the Swiss Alps. Here we can see the steep slopes the local farmers have to work. In the summer these meadows are mowed by hand several times. One can just imagine the hard work that involves. That is why farmers in the mountains are supported finically by the Swiss government.
Overhead passing is the cablecar from Stechelberg to the Schilthorn (2970m above sea level), where you can find a restaurant that revolves around its axix once every hour.

Yes a breathtaking or breathless senary indeed!

Hi Daniel, It must be great to go by this cable car and admire the view. Are the meadows really moved by hand?? Wouldn't it be better to hire some sheep? Anyway, nice small huts below impressive rocks.

If I recall correctly: this is within the Lauterbrunnen-valley, Daniel.
A fine capture of the cable-car going up to Brig, via Murren. Been there 5/1974, 5/1980 and on 6/2006.
The green lawn in picture is overwhelming, and the cliff side is most impressive. Typical Swiss...

Amazing, and no doubt somewhat frightening at times for those both above and below! Lots of great slopes that you've given perspective to here, and awesome light hitting the floor of the valley really helps give a sense of the scale of the place.

Yes, a very steep slope and I don't know if I want to ride that cable car. Nicely captured with good lighting and dof with sharp details. Very well done, tfs.
