Photographer’s Note
The resort village of Meiringen in the Hasle valley. Photograph was taken from near Reichenbachfall, the site of the waterfalls associated with Sherlock Holmes. Also seen in the photo is the river Aare. A gorge formed by the river ("Aare Gorge") is a popular natural attraction close to Meiringen. This part of Switzerland has many waterfalls, one of which can also been seen in this picture.
