Photographer’s Note
Free Parking is a challenge in Switzerland, parking space is rare and most spaces are limited duration blue zone, be aware that Swiss Police efficiency is second to none when it comes to fine people overstaying by a minute. So getting out of the center and its parking trouble can be the solution to get easy and free parking as did this clever guy here, the nearest city Bern is only 60 kms away...
This one has been shot under unfavourable light conditions, but it is less of a problem in winter as the sun does not get high and strong enough to wash contrasts as in summer. On the right side the lake you can see in the Brienzersee that can be found east of Interlaken. The parked vehicle here is actually a Pisten Bully used to prepare ski slopes in compacting the snow to ensure it will not be grabbed away too fast by the many passing skiers.

Hi Jean Yves,
Funny one. I guess that slope downward is skiable. I hope the intention is not to lure skiers down the cliff to death!
Nicely split scene with that whateveryoucallit in foreground and valley on the right.

Im curious. I was looking at the exif info and found that the cocal length was 7.8 mm?! This was not taken with a DSLR, was it? Since I was thinking that this would look fantastic with a very wide lens or even a fisheye. You tease us with the view to the right, I would like to see it more, more exaggertaed, bigger, more prominent.
The colors here are very good JY, so are the contrasts, the light was not a problem at all.

Hi Jean-Yves.
This is a magical shot, given the position of the vehicle and the view down there towards the lake. It really gives a perspective of the srroundings. There is even the view towards the top of the slope. And the contrast between the red colour of the vehicle and the blue all around is great!
Magical!

hahaha... totally right. I got fine for parking a few times already. but I wouldn't want to park on the edge like this vehicle to get free parking :)
very nice capture, JY
beautiful composition and lighting

Hi Jean Yves. I enjoy looking at all the winter postings at this time of the year, and this is certainly something different. Your camera has handled the difficult lighting conditions well, and I am impressed by the amount of detail that you can see in the valley below (looks like an airstrip down there). Good POV and composition, DOF and sharpness. Cheers . . . David

Hello JY - parking is a nightmare in urban areas, but I know ski resorts can be MUCH MUCH worse, and the efficiency of the swiss police is indeed amazing, excellent detail in the shadows, you managed the light very well.

I knew parking was bad in Switzerland, but I didn't know it was this bad! This parking spot may be far from the centre of the city, but it has a nice view. Great job dealing with the high contrast and the refelction off the white snow - the shot looks very natural. Great work, as usual!

Salut JY.
EXCELLENT !!!! :)
SUper bien vu ca...j'adore l'idée !

Hi Jean-Yves. This one certainly isn't lacking in the dramatics! I sure would hate to fall over the edge. The people in the background help complete the pic. Good shot JY.

Bonjour Jean Yves,

Tres belle photo, bien construite.
