Swiss Mountain Wilderness Photo

Photographer’s Note

Swiss mountains are very beautiful and their wilderness is a delight for the adventurous climber.

Just imagine waking up long before dawn and hurrying out to climb one of the numerous peaks in the best hours. After hours of efforts in the cold and the snow the last rock before the summit is mastered, you haul yourself up to your goal and you discover either:
- a bench donated by one of the competing motorists organisation TCS and ACS or an insurance company
- a full size railway station
- a panoramic restaurant with plenty of tourists curious to add this exhausted and unaware climber to their family album.

This is here the 3rd possibility, the panoramic restaurant "Alpentower" above Meiringen in the upper Bernese Alps that offers stunning mountain views in all directions.

Funny notes for a perfect shot! I like the sharpness of the snow, the blue of the sky, and the composition : lines belonging to the roof and to the road are converging so well.

Une belle photo qui me permet de découvrir la version hivernale d'une région que je fréquente surtout en été. Pour ce qui est du "wilderness", les puristes peuvent toujours aller voir ma photo du jour....

Bonjour, Jean Yves. J'aime bien l'humour dans ta note (qui n'est, à mon avis, pas loin de la réalité, cependant). J'aime beaucoup l'arrière-plan qui se détache sur un beau ciel bleu. L'avant-plan illustre bien le manque de goût de certains promoteurs qui inondent de béton des endroits idylliques.

une photo qui traduit bien l'ambiance des vacances et des sports d'hiver, un bol de bon air bien frai mais aussi des grandes vues pour se rincer l'oeil.
Un ciel comme je les aime, une neige pas surexposée, les règlages sont parfaits.

La photo est très claire et donne envie d'aller à la montagne, faire un peu de ski.
Grace à ta note, je prendrai le train plutôt que la paroi. Tant qu'à construire en pleine montagne, l'architecture a quand même été soignée, ils auraient pu faire pire.

White snow contrasted against blue sky makes for superb photos. I can imagine being one of the people looking out at the wonderful views. I don't think I would be one of the adventurous climbers though. Well composed image with the diagonal "snow-wall" as lead-in.

A very breathtaking image, I love the luminosity. The bright colors and extreme good definition. The sky has that rich light blue, I am always amaze by how winter shots can have that kind of sky. A splendid winterscene from the top of the swiss mountains.I like the compo with the inviting perspective,the superb colors and saturation.The texture in the foreground snow is a good detail.

la photo répercute bien l'abiance sport d'hiver, grand paysages forte lumière et tout blanc.

Ca, c'est une photo prise sur des ski... A mon avis, il faudra que je reprenne le sony pour aller faire des photos sur les pistes en mars!
En tout cas, ce paysage magnifiquement ensoleillé me donne envie d'y être (sur les pistes de Serre Chevalier dans mon cas)

LOl for your note - completely my sentiments, but at this time of year I have to go with the crowds and admit that it's nice to be able to take the gondola and ski on proper pistes - despite the hordes of people. Your shot has nice contrasts of light and shadow on the snow.
