Photographer's Note

Switzerland is a nation of flowers that seem to thrive in the mountain air. Each species favors a different altitude and habitat from rock crevices and screes to snow beds and springs.

The hike to Lake Bachalpsee offers everything to a hiker's heart desires: a magnificently-landscaped path leads through lush flowering alpine meadows. On the opposite side of the valley, the ice capped, sharp, jagged peaks of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn and Finsteraarhorn on the opposite side of the valley stand in stark contrast to the pretty flowering meadows lining the trail.
