Rhine Navigation Photo

Photographer’s Note

A wider view that completes my monday post and shows now the complete navigation scene having the pilot ship "Lai da Tuma" haul this loaded green freighter up the Rhine to one of the Basel harbours, I have shot it as the freighter was passing under the oldest bridge to have linked both Rhine sides since the middle age, in the distance you can see the next bridge and also on the top left corner a fire brigade boat.

Olá JY, wonderful wider view so very well composed, even if a bit tight on the left for the fire brigade boat. This red element is far away but it's important to complete the whole perspective of the boats. It's also great to see the two bridges well fit in the frame and people walking on the closer one. Yes, I have to say that this wider view gives me more pleasure than the previous version.

Malgré le pont coupé dans la partie supérieur de l'image, je trouve ce cadrage beaucoup plus vivant que la première. Je préfère très nettement cette vue avec ces beaux reflets et ce pont moyennageux.
C'est bien vu !

Similar to the previous day's post, but I like this better, as there is more interest in the upper part of the frame, which balances the image. As usual, the colour and contrast is very good, giving the overall picture a very attractive appearance. Well done!

C'est une de ces vues qui serait presque banale s'il n'était pas pour le cadrage, la clarté et les couleurs parfaits. Seulement les plus talentueux et inspirés réussit faire ça!

C'est le Vendée Globe qui te donne des envies d'escapades marines ou tu nous fais l'inventaire de la marine suisse? Je pense plutôt que c'est la belle lumière qui t'a attiré et tu l'as exploitée au mieux dans cette compo au cadrage impeccablement pensé.

Un course de péniche, c'es la F1 de Bâle, génial l'image, on dirait quei le suivantn va lui enfoncer le ... , avec le pont, l'effret sur l'eau, superbe.

Un enchainement de ponts mais ce que j'aime ici c'est ce premier bateau et sa trace qui traduit très bien le mouvement ce qui fait une bonne ligne avec la péniche qui suit.

I was all set to comment on this yesterday but was called away, so here I am today.
I love the light and the reflections. The distorted pattern made from the wake and ripples is very appealing. Interesting to see 3 boats in primary colours, (yellow in the lead! ;D)which create a pleasing daigonal linking both sides of the bridge. Nice work JY

Bonjour Mr Pixel Terror, la navigation du Rhin m'est toujours un sujet sympathique vu que j'ai grandi avec la vue sur ce fleuve...cela m'est donc très familier! Et ta vue est jolie avec ces deux ponts et les petits passants dessus en prime!

Il semble que le cadrage ait posé un petit problème du fait des deux ponts proches l'un de l'autre.
Quoiqu'il en soit j'aime bien cette composition avec cette netteté et ces si belles couleurs.

A great composition in which all the elements cooperated to get into the right position at the right moment. I wasn't sure at first about the inclusion of the bit of bridge on the top, but as I look at it, I see that it frames the scene nicely while hinting at scenery behind it.
