Photographer’s Note

Despite the red it's not Africa here, it's the entrance of the Basel city hall, with no doubt the most colorful building of the city, over the two entrances you can see the coat of arms. I tried a close framing with these two entrances and waited for people to place themselves in a convenient way, not too easy at this time as many are passing by and interfere in the scene.

Un joli cliché tout en couleurs qui présente une bonne symétrie entre les deux portes. J'ai été voir ton autre cliché qui nous fait apprécier le bâtiment dans son contexte.

Le cadrage est vraiment impeccable et ta patience a été récompensée, le placement des personnages est idéal et on bénéficie même de leur ombre projetée !
Un beau rouge qui claque bien, dans une ville qui m'était pourtant apparue assez austère. En même temps, juste de passage, je n'ai pas pu en avoir une idée précise.
La qualité est top, et laisse apprécier la fresque.
Très originale ta compo, bien vu.

Good morning JY, this building is really gorgeous belonging to the fairy tale stories. Superb double framing and symetry broken by the opened doors and life happening around. The red is so attractive that there's no nead of dressing that woman with a more contrasting color ;-)

The detail is just first rate in this, looks like this building has been mirrored. You have done very well with one person walking towards you and the others walking to the side. Brilliant colours JY.

Somehow this looks familiar!! I have never managed to get a satisfactory shot of this building (distortion, verticals, too many people and things in the way!), but this is an interesting version which frames nicely the arches, while the passing folk add life. How nice to be strolling around town on a sunny Friday afternoon!

Une image au parallèle très parlant. La couleur du bâtiment contraste bien avec les portails noirs. La lumière est bien choisie et réchauffe encore plus les couleurs.
Tu me nargues avec tes images de Bâle. C'est pour me rappeler que nous devons toujours nous retrouver là-bas pour une visite. ;-)

My first thought seeing this was "city hall of Basel". This building really is eyecatching and one doesn't forget it. In your photo I like espceially this strong contrast between the structures of the walls and these wonderful gates. Light and colours are great here. Thank you for these holiday memories ...

Beautifully decorated walls. There is nice symmetry which is broken by interesting details. People are well placed, it was worth waiting. Coat of arms on the right is one of Basel, but can you explain the other one?

Une composition parfaite, cadrée aux petits oignons, avec des personnages bien placés et une lumière et des couleurs superbes (en regardant ton précédent post, on voit que tu l'avais alors pas mal Canonisé ce bâtiment!)
Je note un petit laisser aller dans la position de l'écusson à gauche ....on voit que Bâle n'est pas très loin de la France -)

Très belle luminosité qui met en valeur les couleurs de l'édifice, cela compense la triste morosité des portails.
La scène est intéressante avec la position des personnages qui ajoutent une touche de vie sur la composition.
Cadrage impeccable.
Diantre ! Comment trouves tu le temps pour publier autant d'images sur le site ?

When I looked at the thumbnail I thought it was a moroccan photo. Then I notice that these gates are from Switzerland! ((:
I really like the composition and the lights here. The symmetry is perfect and the the colours and the sharpness are also excellent!!

Il est étonnant ce monument, merci pour le lien vers la photo globale !
Ce cadrage est vraiment chouette, jouant sur la symétrie à peine perturbée. Effectivement à la vignette, on croirait une scène du Maghreb, mais les fresques ne vont pas du tout quand on ouvre !!! Et on apprécie tous les détails de la grille grâce à la netteté.

Oh wit such delicious reds and the lovely flowing decoration, I though it must be Florence.The dark intricate ironwork is the perfect foil for that richness and your real people are just right. This one really sings with colour and excitement. regards kevin

Et bien , il n'y a pas qu'à Marrakech que l'on trouve ces murs ôcres... tout à fait surpris lorsque, au dessus de la vignette, on lit "Suisse"...alors, on ouvre et là on trouve plein de détails différents de ceux imaginés...

Un cadrage parfait ,des couleurs que l'on ne s'attend as à voir dans cette ville et surtout une excellente qualité d'image qui permet d'apprécier tous les détails.Une photo très bien pensée et réalisée.

De suite en regardant cette photo, bien que le contexte en soit différent, j'ai flashé sur le cadrage qui m'a fait penser à un des miens ;) La lumière nous révèle bien les détails architecturaux de la façade et a bien fait ressortir ses couleurs rose/orangé. J'aime moins les ombres qui ne pouvaient être évitées...La photo en lien permet de nous faire découvrir la célèbre façade rouge de cette splendide mairie!
