childhood's end Photo

Photographer’s Note

...taken at Lenzburg Castle, which stands on a hill, rising about 100 meters over the surrounding plains. The oldest parts of the castle were built in the 11th century.

The title refers to one of my favorite sci-fi books, a masterpiece, by Arthur C. Clarke and a great song by Marillion.

I applied strong contrast, desaturation and unsharp mask.

Hi, Fusun.
Something of extremely strong, dramatic and unusual in this composiion and in the girl's attutudes.
I am just a little disturbed by the strong blue aspect of a picture.
I made a WS.

The girls seems to be a little tired after the tour of the castle...this is the impression I have watching their faces.
The strong contrast and desaturation works for me,like the framing you`ve choosen.

Hello Fusun, this is a really interesting image. I find it touching as Im looking at these sad faces and avacant stare of the younger girl.
Good composition plus cold blue color balance makes this shoot even more dramatic and moody.

Excellent atmosphere here, Fusun. It hardly seems like childhood's end, though--they're barely at the halfway point! Unlike Grazyna, I like the blue tones and the "anti-happy" (not exactly sad) mood they create. Beautiful toning of their faces. Regards, Ken.

The tones and tint, as well as the gazes of the children, gives an intense feel to the image. There is a definite feel of doom here. Just like in the Clarke's book, which is a favorite of mine as well (and truly, truly scary). Excellent work, Fusun.

Andreas'ın "piano başındaki baba ve oğul" konulu fotoğrafını hatırlarsın belki. Öyle dan diye koyuvermişti ve ağzım bi karış açık kalmıştı. Aynısı bunda oldu şimdi. Konu ve sunuş biçimi mükemmel. PP'yi çok kıskandım ama öğrenmek için en ufak bir çaba bile harcamam :))

Neyse ne diyordum, Deniz’i söylüyordum… Konuşmanın ilerleyen safhalarında ortaya çıktı ki meğersem o “for my sweetheart the drunk”ı değil, bu fotoğrafı kast ediyormuş. Yanlış anlama, telefon görüşmelerimiz senin fotoğrafların üzerine dönmüyor 
Ben bilmem valla Fus level layer falan ben de böyle fotoğraflar çekmek istiyorum. Baktın mı buz gibi ortamı hissettirsin, insanın içini dondursun. Nasıl bir mekanda, ne şartlarda çektin fotoğrafı bilemiyorum ama pp şahane gözüküyor. Unsharp mask da nedir allasen?
Ben seni bildim bileli -ki bu TE'ye ilk defa fotoğraf yüklediğim güne dayanır, sen PS CS3 edin der durursun, edindim ama olmuyorum Fus böyle işte, profesyonel desteğe ihtiyacım var sanırım.

Kadraj, isik, renkler hepsi profesyonelce. Hic bir hata ve eksiklik yok. Bu kare ancak bu kadar cekilebilir. Bu arada diger arkadaslara ozellikle Ifot'a not: PS bilmeyen fotografi biraksin :)

This children looks as if something really bad happened to them. Fortunately we know, that’s only a false impression created by the photographer. Once again a very beautiful, melancholic shot.

Bu fotografi nasil olduysa kacirmisim.gercekten soylenecekler soylenmis ama ben yine de tekrar edeyim. Kucuk kizlarin ifadesini cok basarili cercevelemissiniz, alan derinligi, detaylar, duzenleme sahane. Cok begendim bu fotografi , insani filme ceken film afisleri gibi olmus:)
