Photographer’s Note
Rooted to the spot, I am destined to spend my days alone here, far from my cousins over in that field. They have grown up together and will be harvested together. I get lonely at times, looking across at the others, wondering what their conversations are, how they are enjoying the social life. But while they are all crammed together in a field and jostling for space, sometimes I enjoy being alone, having space to breathe, to survey my surroundings and to reflect.

Hi Susanna,
It's a good title (reminds me of my "O Level" readings!) and a funny note. Technically the shot is also well composed with a perfect DOF to make this solitary flower stand out against the background. A very creative way of showing us yet another field of rapeseed!
Have a nice evening.

Hi Susanna. A beautiful photo of the single colza plant standing at a distance from the yellow field in the back. Good use of DOF, and the exquisite lighting on the yellow petals makes the foreground object stand out even beetter. Nice writing job on the notes for this one, too.

Bonsoir Susanna,
C'est une très belle prise de vue, j'aime bien la netteté de la fleur qui se détache sur un paysage flou.La luminosité est parfaite.

Hi Susanna,
Great use of depth of field in this photo, the foreground is pin sharp compared to the rest of the photo. It's a great approach rather than the normal landscape where one tries to get everything sharp.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Susanna,
Lovely colza composition.
I like much your framing with this lonely yellow flower in foreground and the green and yellow blurred fields in background.

Bonsoir Susanna,
Une compo originale avec un sujet banal, un beau bokeh. C'est une réussite, bravo!

Hi Susanna,
Perhaps you know, 'Far away from the maddening crowds' is a beautiful ambient/lounge-like tune of Chicane. Funny enough, when listening to that music, I never think about anything green!
It has more of a desert- or savannah-like mood to it. Brown-red plains of nothing... That is more the feeling of the music. Great depths, no sharp focus in the foreground ;-).
Your composition is fine! Nothing wrong with it! But I am wondering if you really were thinking of Chicane when posting this picture. Would be funny, since it would show how we all connect different feelings and pictures to the same music. And vice versa. How we all could take a same picture, but add a different feel or tone to it!
Thanks for sharing!
Greetings, Dennis

Hi Susanna
Excellent bokeh and framing and such a funny note. I do wonder why there are sometimes isolated plants but I guess it's because of the the birds.
Enjoy your evening

Hello Susanna, is an image in which you manage to emphasize the attraction of the small flower on the rest of the field. The refección of your note complements perfectly this photo ... on what I congratulate you.
Thank you and see you soon.
Regards.

....and all my seeds will not go into the crusher!
I have this vision of you laid flat on your stomach to get this POV. Well done. The light on the yellow is very good. Your focus and DOF are spot-on.

Bonjour Susanna
ATCHOUM !
En dépit de l'allergie à cette plante, j'apprécie beaucoup cette composition, une très bonne mise au point sélective dans cet environement buccolique.
Amicalement.
