Red roofs of Swiss Laufenburg, photo taken from the hill on the German side of River Rhine.
The town of Laufenburg is located on the Rhine River in Swiss Canton Aargau around 60km west from Zurich and 40km east from Basel.
On the other side of the Rhine River lies German Laufenburg. The same name is not by accident, as the two used to be the same Town. In the early 19th century Napoleon divided the town to two parts separated by Rhine River. Two bridges now link both towns.
SORY FOR MY VERY SLOW RESPONSE, BUT DURING MY TRAVELING I OFTEN HAVE NOT ACCESS TO INTERNET OR ACCESS TO SLOW SPEED INTERNET.

I really like this composition from a perfect POV. The many roofs crowded tightly together by your camera lens have created a superb pattern. I also love the tree growing in what looks like a tiny courtyard. The façades seen in the foregound also contribute well to the beauty of this photo.

La version large nous plonge dans les délices d'une vue plongeante sur les toits et en partie des façades de la ville.
Quel bonheur de pouvoir contempler pareille réalisation.
Très bonne journée.

What a great view on these red roofs! The city from that high POV looks spectacular and was presented very well with great sharpness and level of details. Like it!

A fine expansive view over these attractive rooftops. The image is nicely lit and has a fine range of tones with good sharpness. The tree makes a fine contrasting focal point.

With all perfect details.

The houses look packed together like comrades standing shoulder to shoulder in a crowd! I, too, would have a balcony high, near the roof. What a sun trap and what wonderful views would be available!
You have treated us to some excellent details of Swiss Laufenberg.
I just love the roof windows ... so many different styles!
Have a lovely Sunday,

Very pleasing overview over the roofs of old Laufenburg. Having taken this from the german side, you must have used quite a long tele zoom, as the river Rhine is quite wide here. I often pass this region when travelling between Basel and Zurich for work.
have a great weekend

J'aime beaucoup ce genre d'image. On dirait que les toits de ce village poussent dans toutes les directions. J'aime beaucoup le jeu des ombres avec la lumière.

this was really a very difficult task! The result is a symphony of roofs and a fantastic impression of Swiss Laufenburg almost from the bird’s eye perspective. A great idea and an excellent execution!

I like very much this tight composition which features a captivating play of characteristic architectural patterns. The intricate setting is presented with excellent sharpness and intriguing, moody tones. I like the contrast provided by the greenery and the effective role of the shadows. The whole is vibrant and attractive, the way our glance is constantly sent to different directions is really enjoyable. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great week and enjoy your travels,

Salut cher Miro
I really like your photos where you have used a tight crop, as in the wheat photo and other recent ones. This is lovely, it accentuates the textures and you have managed the beautiful strong sunlight so well. Excellent work and thank you very much for your thoughts on the MH17 disaster.

A cute old town showing the immaculate detail of the roof scape with lovely touch of fresh green as strong pointer into the scene and enriching the whole scene at the same time. Wonderful compact dwelling full of charm featuring the rustic quality perhaps that takes one back in time full of character before new modern style buildings are born. A fine shot, lovely deep brown tone, good clarity and contrast. It's a pleasant shot easy on the eyes, Congrats

I like the roofs of those houses they are all different, unlike houses in the U.S. where the roofs in a subdivision all look alike. Good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.

No worries about response times...if anything, I'm jealous of your travels. :) Glad you found some time to stop in for a quick bit, always good to hear from you, and I hope you're having a great time. My first thought when seeing this picture was of the Old Town in Bern, I really enjoy this close grouping of rooftops. Seemingly a "no-rules" configuration, so many different angles and directions, but it all comes together neatly and well organized...just like the country in which they're located. :) Lovely light to accent the strong shapes and architectural design, and plenty of detail and textures. Travel safe, and stop in again when you can. Take good care.

All the cities along the Rhine are a marvel, this is well preserved and the creative cropped capture is good in sharpness and color contrast

I like the pair of photos you've submitted from Laufenberg, here the incredibly dens field of roofs on the Swiss side. You had a perfect vantage point.
