Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken at Quaibrücke.
In the distance, on the left, behind the trees, you can see Grossmünster - a 12th-century Romanesque ex-cathedral.

The day was very windy :)

In the morning it was very sunny, in the afternoon clouds began to gather out of nowhere... and in the evening it already rained... Look here!

I cropped the very bottom of the photo (part of the road) as the shot was taken from the opposite side of the road.

Hi Elena,

one can see on the flags that it was a windy day and it was surely not warm looking at the clothes of the people going around. Framing of the flag is well done and you get a beautiful insight of the züricher landscape.

Hi Elena,
The flags here provide som good colours to your scenery here. But you also managed to get a man dressed in red to (I also like to include something like that) to ad some more colour and some vitality to the photo. Well seen!

I wonder how the Swiss flag came about? It is interesting to note that Red Cross also has the same colors but reverse it.

Interesting to find that the flags become the main subject from your way of presenting this landscape view. Perhaps your title can exert good influence in what we are going to take notice :)

dear Elena,
the accent of an orange walking man makes this shot interesting.
of course, "red and white" flag and "blue and white" sky make comfortable windy space, then the addition of the man in foreground makes one more view-point on basic portion. it shows stable effect in the picture to viewer's eye.
anyway, clear colors show us fine feeling well.

Ha, ha, Elena, the man's clothes and the flags certainly reveal the weather conditions graphically.

Great and tight framework, composition and sharpness. Nice color composition as same as postcard as usual.
If the center line is slided a little right, that will be a perfect symmetry, but it does not matter so much.

Hello Elena! This is a typical windy day in Zuerich, actually yesterday was very smiliar with these wonderful huge clouds you are showing us in your picture but with more leaves of course, now that we are approaching May quickly. The vertical format is very well chosen and I like to see one part of the town in the distance but also leaving space above for the clouds. Good idea to include some of the street, it adds a little natural space form the man walking by which I like. This is very good, I like it. Best regards ... from Zuerich ... Barbara.

What a windy day for you, i like the mood here and the clarity of the shot as well, there must be a reason why you cropped the leftmost flag but still a very good shot.

Encore une belle photo du drapeau de la Suisse! Je suis curieuse de savoir ce que représentent les 2 autres. En tous cas, le point de vue est impressionnant, avec ces 3 drapeaux flottant contre le beau ciel nuageux! Dommage j'en conviens pour le temps qui a suivi, mais après tout, c'était en mars!
Beau point de vue sur la ville, avec le clocher élancé dans le fond!
