Hello there,

The Swiss National Museum or Landesmuseum (German) – part of the Musée Suisse Group – is one of the most important art museums of cultural history in Europe and the world. It is located in the city of Zurich, Switzerland's largest city, next to the Main Station.

The museum building of 1898 in the historicist style was built by Gustav Gull in the form of the French Renaissance city chateaus. His impressive architecture with dozens of towers, courts and his astonishing park on an island between the rivers Sihl and Limmat has become one of the main sights of the Old City District of Zurich.

The exhibition tour takes the visitor from prehistory through ancient times and the Middle Ages to the 20th century (classic modern art and art of the 16th, 17th and 18th century is settled mainly in the Kunsthaus Museum in a different part of the city of Zurich). There is a very rich section with gothic art, chivalry and a comprehensive collection of liturgical wooden sculptures, panel paintings and carved altars.

This is, of course, only a part of it. I didnt get to go inside since I was pretty much pressed with time, and I think it was also closed, due to renovation - beside the fact that I wasnt there in the visiting hours.

Hi Miha.
Nice architecture photo, very well composed in 4:3 format (I normally prefer the Leica 24x36 format...). Good sharpness and correct framing foreground and interesting note too.
Well done.
Cheers.
Bobo.

Miha,

Beautiful view, nice sharpness....only I wish the sky was blue....then somethng that we can not control....You have chosen nice POV to give both length and breadth of the building.
Nice work

Hemant

Puno pozdrava....Branko

Miha, this is nice. I love this kind of sky and lighting condition for the color-rich objects. That red/green striped roof is wonderful. You were there at the good time of the year, for the brick structure and autumn colors just in harmony. Narrow dark frame which extends from the color of the tree branches is a good choice. The face of the building and the ground could go yet lighter? I tried a workshop, hope you like it.

Zivjo Miha,

pisuka en dan me ni pa sem v takem zaostanku...
Super kot! Vsec mi je kako hisa in drevo objameta sliko, blazno dobro zbalansiran. Objekt kot sam deluje impresivno, vreme pa tako kot je. Malce depresivno. Tist gray patch cisto nic ne moti. Vsaj mene ne!

Lep pozdrav,
Jeri

I was wandering why I liked this pic of yours, beyond the fact that it's a nice piece of Middle Europe architecture. Perhaps because the building "fills" the image but at the same time give enough room to the trees, the garden and the sky. So after all it's the composition we choose that make a difference.
And of course, colours, contrast and sharpness contribute as well. I've seen the workshop, yet I don't know which to prefer, they seem both valid and justified to me.

Ciao,
Donato

Bonjour Miha,
la photo est très nette et bien cadrée, on pourra juste lui repprocher que le ciel soit si blanc.
Une très bonne expo malgré les lumières difficiles.

Cheers.
Daniel.
