Photographer's Note

I decided to post this photo just because:

1) it was taken on the same day (March 16) in 2008...

2) it was a wonderful sunny spring day (although a bit cold and very windy as well!)

And I really wonder what the weather is like right now, today, in Zurich! just the same? or there's some snow left around?

3)I didn't find a similar shot posted on TE :-)

In the photo:

Globus department store in Bahnhofstrasse.

On the left, in front of Globus: a monument to Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (January 12, 1746 – February 17, 1827) who was a Swiss pedagogue and educational reformer.

In 1899, the Lucerne sculptor, Hans Siegwart, erected a monument to Pestalozzi on the only green area along the Bahnhofstrasse, in front of the present-day Globus department store.
It stands – it could hardly be more fitting – on what used to be a schoolyard. (source:

In the Workshop: 2 additional photos:

1) the monument to Pestalozzi
2) a shot of what this ground looked like in 2009..... also on the 16th!.. of July :)

NB: this is my last post before my holiday.

I am leaving in several days, and before the departure I have to do some really urgent work again :((
My bosses don't care at all if I am already tired...

Anyway I'll try to find some free time to come to TE!
