Terve Kari,
Ah there's somebody to deliver us the bovine vision of the day :-)
Well exposed and luminous despite the overcast weather, good angle approach, love her !
Have a nice day JY

hi Kari,
there is a TV commercial in the US that tasty milk comes from happy cows, and this one definitely seems happy, just look at that swinging tail :) the light is great, I might try and enhance the play of lights and shadows on the slopes of the mountains, but I agree with Jean-Yves about luminosity, such light makes everything shine. great fun shot :)
best,
Kristine

Kari,
the light surrounding the cow is quite exquisite and opens that image in a very fine way. Kristine writes regarding the Happy Cows in the US. Actually the commercial is about Californian cheese and milk. Happy Cows are supposed to be in California, but I never bought that commercial. It is funny, but doesn't have a lot to do with what I see here in california. The real happy cows are in Switzerland and you got a great sample to show that.

Hi Kari,
In addition to your excellent detail, natural colors and framing, what really makes the shot for me is the sidelong glance from the cow. She almost seems to be flirting with you!! I seldom see photos with much eye contact fronm cows at this distance.
More about the framing... I love the way you let us see the valley with flowers in the FG detail, and misty snowy moutain in the BG. The drama of sunlight and shadow ties it all together. However, what are those interesting stripes on the hillside???

Hi Kari,
This is a fine healthly looking milk cow you have capture grazing contently in this broad treeless lush green valley.
Excellent clarity and sharp details to this lovely landscape.
