Photographer’s Note

View of Andermatt and Hospental from the road to Oberalppass.

During the winter season, the road to Oberalppass is closed for motorized traffic and it is transformed in a ski and tobogganing slope - ideal place small children to learn skiing and have fun in the snow.

On the way up one can take a chair-lift or the train on the winding cog railway until Naetschen. This is in fact a small section of the Glacier Express route. For very small children I would recommend the train which runs up the slope every 30 minutes. A small section of the train line can be observed in the lower-left corner of the picture.

Taken with a a pocket camera and adjusted a bit in Photoshop.

Très belle photo, bien cadrée, je vois pas le golf.
Très belle vallée qui ressemble bien au Valais, c'est tout proche.

Hello Mihai,
A good mountain shot with a huge depth of field. I like the splash of red color in the foreground and your photo shows that we're really lacking a lot of snow this year. This shot will soon have some historical value as the local authorities have just approved a project to build a huge hotel complex of several thousands beds in Andermatt.

Se vede ca o vale produsa de un ghetar ...seamana mult cu zona Tranfagarasanului insa spre deosebire de noi elvetienii stiu sa puna in evidenta si in valoare aceste locuri superbe!!!Cat despre fotografie...daca asta numesti tu imagine comuna ....arata-mi ce spui si ce intelegi tu prin ceva extraordinar:)

Hi Mihai,
I have to tell I feel a bit sorry looking at this view from Andermatt, not because your photo is not good, it has a good PoV and is well exposd, but because of the lack of snow, it should have at least a meter more at this time of the year and it's pity to see the ground. But this is not your fault, hope you found enough snow on the Gemsstock for decent skiing !

Hi Mihai,
Beautiful viewpoint showing essentially the whole valley. And a timely weather report. I see there still isn't much snow with slopes partly without it. I like the clouds that seem to be hanging just above you.

what a beauty!!!mah,mah,ce vedere faina,probleme cu zapada peste tot,vad..bune detalii,remarc si linia aia de tren si casutele din vale..in Maramu a fost zapada,cam o sapt,cu intermitente...
