Photographer’s Note

Andermatt is located in the heart of the St. Gotthard holiday region. About 1170 Walser (a celtic people) founded the Urserntal Colonies belonging to the Monastery of Disentis. These included Andermatt ("an der Matt" - "on the meadow"). As you could see in the picture they have a beautiful meadow

Hallo Achim!
Dieses hier war schon in der kleinen Version interessant. Der Kontrast zwischen den Wiesen und dem Neuschnee ist kaum noch zu übertreffen - und dieser interessante Himmel ist das Tüpfelchen auf dem "i".
Eine Foto zum Staunen - wirklich.

Hi Achim,

The electricity polls have a graphical effect. The mountains are framing well the village. The point of view leads our eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. The light send by the nice sky is enhancing the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.

Seems like the first snow came early in 2007..!
The contrast between the green landscape and white snow is stunning, usually it is autumn colours that meet winter...

Very impressive sight, almost unconceivable to have such green fields clinging to the snow-filled valley walls without any transition. Did the snow fall overnight?

This is the place which I would love to visit one day, too. This time while staying in Switzerland I simply did not have enough time...
Very beautiful view. Mountains are a real beauty as it is, and sometimes words fail to express an opinion about the view. But what impresses me in this photo is the sky with these fantastic clouds! Very interesting capture of the moment.

oh, man spürt sogar den frischen Wind der Alpen! Es ist interessant, dass das Grün ohne Übergang in schneebedeckte Hänge wandelt. Die Farben sind besonders schön.
