Photographer's Note
This series of photographs is offering a short journey around Switzerland, a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura, bordering with France, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy.
Switzerland (the Swiss Confederation) consists of following 20 cantons (states) and 6 half-cantons: Aargau, Appenzell Ausserhoden*, Appenzell Innerhoden*, Basel Landschaft*, Basel Stadt*, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Glarus, Graubünden, Jura, Lucerne, Neuchatel, Nidwalden*, Obwalden*, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, Solothurn, St. Gallen, Thurgau, Ticino, Uri, Valais, Vaud, Zug and Zurich (*=half-canton).
From each canton I’ll post 2 photos and from each half-canton 1 photo, total 46 photographs.
Uri
The canton Uri is a founding member of the Swiss Confederation. It is located in Central Switzerland and its territory covers the Valley of Reuss River between Lake Lucerne and St. Gotthard Pass. Its neighboring cantons are cantons Bern, Nidwalden and Obwalden to the west, canton Ticino to the south, cantons Graubünden and Glarus to the east and canton Schwyz to the north. The capital city is Altdorf.
Photo shows central part of Göschenen village with typical houses for this area, made from wood, bricks and stones. Göschenen is located at 1110m altitude at the head of the Urner Reusstal valley near the north portals of the Gotthard railway and motorway tunnels.
For centuries, village history has been shaped by the development of traffic over and through the Gotthard Mountains.
Most people know Göschenen from passing through it. Unjustly so, as taking a break here is well worthwhile for culture and nature lovers.
The Teufelsstein (Devil’s Stone) stands at the entrance to Göschenen village, a monument to the construction of the legend-steeped Teufelsbrücke (Devil’s Bridge) over the cavernous Schöllenschlucht gorge, the last obstacle on the so important north-south trade route across the Alps. Gorge and bridge are the true landmarks of Göschenen.
Göschenen is located 140km east from Bern and 104km south from Zurich.

Good evening Miro,
Canton Uri, was the first name I grasp on Switzerland ( as in Hebrew Uri is a boy name's).
Nice how the clock-tower and houses "riseing" from within the lovely forest.
Green backdrop is good environmentally, and in pictures.

Miro
The paintings and the flattening.
The city nestled in the forest.
Delicate and fragile in her sweet contrast.
I think one semispot the church and the rest adalte lights
Spectacular scenic effect
