A few guys playing chess on the Via Giuseppe Luvini, next to city hall in Lugano's city centre. Lugano is located in the south of Switzerland, just 30km or so from the Italian border. Please click the link at the bottom for the exact location.

To the east of Lugano is Monte Brè (1516 meter). You can get to 933 meters with a funicular, just like the one in Hong Kong. On top, you can get a drink and enjoy the view over Lake Lugano. Another fun thing to do is to rent a little boat and go explore the town from the water.

Lugano is not too big, very friendly and has a very nice little lake boulevard with provides great views over the surrounding towns along the lake. The town 'feels' rich with expensive cars and stores everywhere. That's probably why this town is called the Monte Carlo of Switzerland.

I loved sitting on a bench next to the lake watching those Quatrroporte's, R8's, 550's and Carrera 4's going by. Drooling on the windows of jewelry stores looking at Patek's, Longines and IWC's is also a hobby that I could practise there. Ofcourse all the expensive clothing stores are present as well: Prada, Gucci, Armani, etc. [Off topic: I don't know their products but I love, love, *LOVE* Gucci commercials! See here and here]. Great town, go and see it!
