View to old Tremola Mountain Road on the way from St. Gotthard Pass to Airolo in Swiss Canton Ticino.
Tremola Road from St. Gotthard Pass is 16.4km long and is winding down from 2,091m to 1,130m a.s.l.
Many St. Gotthard photos show the old cobblestone paved Tremola Mountain Road in days gone by when it was little more than a pathway and there are also photos of the old horse-drawn post carriage making its way slowly over the steep road. Today one can take a ride in a replica (see the bottom part of the road) of this old coach, complete with driver resplendent in national costume, and enjoy the scenery along with much horn blowing, a taste of days long gone.
Airolo is located in Leventina valley and the Lepontine Alps, on the southern flank of the St. Gotthard Pass (first township after Gotthard Pass).
Both the Gotthard Rail Tunnel, on the important Gotthard Railway linking northern and southern Europe, and the 17km long Gotthard Road Tunnel, on the A2 Motorway, have their southern portal in Airolo.
For Canton Ticino please refer to note attached to one of my previous photographs.

If I were at this scene, I would wondere how to capture it so that you can see the many labels and layers to the road, and you have chosen the perfect composition to do that. Is an almost dizzying shot with the perspective you chose, and a brilliant addition to have the old cart there too. Really nice!
All the best

You have found a great point of view to show many layers of this switchback, splendid photo

Given the circumstances, you have done your best and the result is fairly good and the hint of snow patch The perspective is good as the roads guide down the steep slopes with the backdrop adds the natural framing and extending the depth. The green triangle creates a wonderful additional colour to break the monotony. A good record shot, Well done. TFS

Now this is a solid example of having a good eye for photography! Not only have you given a strong perspective, but you were able to see something that most people probably wouldn't notice as they travel down this stretch of switchbacks. The way this road stacks up as it's layered in a descending order of depth, along with the angled and curved lines, is a great illustration of vision for the natural environment. It's sharp, detailed, smartly composed and well exposed. Bravo! Thanks for sharing this viewpoint. Have a great day ahead.

Well taklen a downward's POV, snow patchs and green in fine contrast.
Have a nice day,

Now I know why five horses are necessary to carry a single carriage!!
Very impressive is the amount of stones used as pavement for this winding road closed to motorcars!
Fortunately, horses never drink alcohol!!

The road is winding down fast as we can see five layers of roads. The carriage can be seen at the bottom layer.Great view. Thanks for sharing.Have a great Sunday tomorrow.

having seen your pictures of the carriage, I can now understand this place and your composition better. Here we can see the carriage a moment before it disappears from the scenery. There's a nice play of perspectives in the frame and all these fragments of the winding mountain road make a very attractive and puzzling sight. I love the light and the natural tones, the depth, the textures and the mystery of the carriage's destination. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely week,

I hope drivers are being careful going down this road, it looks scary to me. Nicely captured with good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Excellent contrast with the green field
How very funny must be to take a ride in the replica
