Photographer's Note

Locarno in the canton Ticino, the italian speaking part of Switzerland, is a busy tourist town. Best known for its international film festival in summer on the Piazza Grande, it sports a quaint little old town that reminds one of Italy. This here is Piazza Sant Antonio, just a few minutes walk from the overcrowded Piazza Grande with its tourist joints. The square is dominated by the church of Chiesa di Sant Antonio and is almost deserted at night. But for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of the Piazza Grande, there is a quiet little wine bar situated in one corner of the Piazza. This is taken, sitting on the terrace of the wine bar, sipping a quite glass of wine.

A pleasant nighttime shot, Daniel, showing the celebratory lights still hanging from the square in the less-known Italian area of Switzerland. Beautiful green light in places, mixing well with the clean white light elsewhere. Thanks!

Must be nice to sit in the wine bar, close to this square, but not too cold on the terrace? Strange that now this square looks deserted. pleasant Christmas illuminations.

Indeed this looks deserted square somehow the lovely warm lights and colors help to revitalise the shot. Might have been a moody night but you've turned it into something. Nice piece of workmanship, excellent notes as well. Congrats.

Hi Daniel,
This looks like a pretty cool place to chill our over a glass of wine. I love that the square is empty of people, and something I would imagine you had to wait a while to get. The Christmas lights a very beautiful too, and subtle, which makes them even nicer. The green light is quite mysterious.
