Photographer’s Note

The Visconti Castle is located at the lower lake of Maggiore which appears with the charm of its ancient stones and with the attractive emblem of the Visconti family, a snake swallowing a man, which can be seen above the entrance and on a side of the tower. The castle does not strike fear or those sensations which are typical when we visit an imposing structure, massive and mysterious like a castle. This feeling is legitimated by the consideration that the castle represented for the illustrious Visconti family a sumptuous residence more than a defence work.
