Back to summer ...

This is the tiny village Lavertezzo in Verzasca valley in the Swiss canton Ticino. It is situated in an altitude of 563 m. Lavertezzo with its church S.Maria degli Angeli is surrounded by a truly wonderful and impressive landscape. You cannot see it here, but there are wonderful side valleys for fantastic hikes.

In the foreground you can see the gorgeous river bed of Verzasca river with its gneiss rocks. As you can see this place is very popular for sun worshippers and swimmers - but water of Verzasca - in summer! - has a temperature of about 8 - 10°C. In exchange for this the rocks are heaten up far into the evening.

A very pleasing composition with a good point of view. The foreground rocks add depth whilst the fence posts help lead the eyes towards the charming little church. The whole benefits from a fine light and good natural colours.

Hallo lieber Frank,
Die "Schywiz" hat immer tolle Szenen anzubieten. Und wenn man sie sehen kann um so schoener und besser. Der Blickwinkel und die ganze geometrie des Bildes ist toll. Aber am schoensten fand ich die felsenstrukturen im Vordergrund und die gruenblaue Farbe des Baches. Wieder begleitet mit guten Info's.

PS.Heute sind wir (ich und meine Frau) wieder in unserem Sommerhaus und werden die Wohnung langsam dicht machen. Da weit und breit kein Mensch mehr. Paar Igel, drei Hunde, viele Singdrossel und viel Regen.
Gestern haben wir etwa 40 Toepfe mit Geranien zurechtgestutz und ins Gewaechshaus getragen. Heute schmerzem mir alle Gelenke.
Aber zur Belohnung gibt's zu Mittag ! Na Du weisst's schon .. ;-))

This is a great scene! It looks like a very inviting place to catch a few rays, but I don't think the water temp sounds very inviting! The texture of the rocks adds nice interest for the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The inclusion of the church to the left is great adding another nice point of interest for the shot.

Perhaps the light has not been very favorable in the areas inherent in the sky and on the rocks, but the low point of view is great, because it highlights notoriously beautiful colors, especially green landscape within a well balanced perspective.

It seems that it is a very nice place

Hello Frank,
Is well to join seasons of so warm as the summer. Is well to get hot at so solar photograph as this. The beautiful place with the church deep inside, and with rocks of the wadi, ploughed by water. There pleases to me here the manner of partition of picture. The ravine formed among slopes lead for the strong point of this photo, passing after the way profile of church. Rear light, strong but superbly by You self-possessed, natural colours , and the fantastic composition.

a beautiful valley, interesting strange rocks to enjoy sunbath here! Rocks that seem a flock, or animals.
