Another photo from my stay in Bellinzona.
Bellinzona has always had great historical and political standing due to its position on the intersection of several crucial roads between the north and south of the Alps.
Numerous religious, military and civil monuments including the castles are all evidence of Bellinzona's important past.
This photo is centered on the church of San Biagio - noteworthy for the quality of its artistic 14thC and 15thC decoration, frescos of St. Christopher and the Virgin Mary with Christ.
These frescos are 20th century restorations, but the Church di San Biagio in Ravecchia has some originals.

You're capturing well this architecture by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the standard church with bell tower, yellow wall and the fresco on wall. In particular, It's impressive in fresco depicting St. Christopher and the Virgin Mary with Christ. It's a tasteful building next, too. And, the deep greenery of backdrop draws out a good atmosphere in this image.

what a romantic scene. I like the colors of the church and building. The architecture style remember me the Zorro movies.
I like to see the small part of the fortress in the top of the hill behind the trees, nice inclusion of it.
Ticino seems a nice place to visit.

A greater view of the church and close enough to savour the vivid details and excellently focused for maximum sharpness. The layout is fine this way abound of interest with the adjacent building giving the extra details for a more pleasing combination. I am attracted by the contrast too between the blue sky and green but the yellow church breaks up the appearance nicely as main focal. Indeed a serene capture, well done, TFS

your point of view offered a fine perspective. I'm not sure if I'm correct but I think there's a slight tilt to the right. You've exalted the elegance, interest and interaction of the buildings with your well considered framing. The background provides great contrast and it's beautiful too. You've managed the light and the colours in a very effective and agreeable way. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great week,

A fine church, and I love the colors of it, especially with those frescos on the walls outside. Great positioning against the hilly backdrop, and I like how we see a castle peeping over the top too. Really nice scene, and great note, cheers

The mountain is helping to frame the buildings. The point of view is showing the architecture of the building and of the Church. It is clear and sharp. The light is giving a good contrast to the colours. Have a nice day.

Good evening Miro,
Painted facade of the church and carved balconies and window lintens of the next house are marvelous art elements on picture. Also, contrast well onto the green behind.
I see a castle atop of the mountain, like "rising" from within the trees.
Lovely compo. well spotted.

Salut cher Miro
Even without looking at the location, I could tell the Italian influence here. I really love the strong colours and the most beautiful murals here. Excellent choice the vertical frame and your sharpness and colour definition are superb.
Well done, bonne journee

Good frame to show the upper part of these buildings, beautiful wall that decorating with carvings and mural, lovely old architectures, tidy shot, distinct photo, good shoot.

Ahh yes, very much Swiss with an Italian flare! :) I really like what you've compacted into this frame, there's both bright and subtle coloring with understated beauty in the architecture and design. Using the tower as a vertical centerpiece set in front of the deep green's is blissful contrast, as the hillside helps extend the frame upwards. I'm guessing the sky was a touch overcast perhaps, but the exposure is spot on for vibrancy and clarity, bringing out the color and details from this isolated section of town. Another pleasing arrangement, job well done...more than "modest!" :) Take good care.

Excellent postcard from Ticino. It reminds me my trip to Lugano. There is a lot of similar small towns around the lakes.
Thanks for your reply. I have never been in Zurich, but I know Vienna and Bratislava. If we have talk about the prices, yes, this country is more interesting. And I really like the Slovakian wine, Frankovka, for example.
But architect style is just a part of Austrian culture. I remember I was wondered by the castle in Salzuburg... Just a copy of the Bratislavian castle.
gervaso (9247) 2013-09-26 18:02
The vertical format of the picture is perfect to show the tower surrounded by the beautiful architecture, captured with very good colors! Wonderful composition! Excellent job!
