Photo from the other side of Gotthard Pass, from sunny Bellinzona in southern Switzerland.
Bellinzona is the administrative capital of the Canton Ticino. The town is famous for its three castles (Castelgrande, Montebello, Sasso Corbaro) that have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2000.
The town lies east of the Ticino river, at an altitude of 238m, at the southern foot of the Alps and it stretches along the river valley, surrounded by the southern ranges of the Lepontine Alps (see previous photographs) to the east and west, and by the Lugano Prealps to the south.
The town is located at a point at which the Ticino river, which has been flowing in a generally southerly direction, makes a turn to the east, to flow through Lago Maggiore to the river Po Valley and Lombardy in northern Italy. Upstream the valley reaches into the high alps, with access to the passes of Nufenen, St. Gotthard (see previous photographs) and Lukmanier.
Belinzona Railway Station is a major intermediate stop on the Gotthard Railway Line. It is a stopping point for major trains heading north toward Zurich and northern Europe and south toward Lugano, Chiasso Milano and southern Europe.

a lovely, picturesque detail with very eye-catching colours. I like the way the two colourful buildings have been tucked into the frame, among the picturesque facade on the left, the pillar of the arch on the right and the dark rocks in the background. The open window on the red house is a very attractive and significant detail. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Lots of colors in the building exteriors.Superb presentation, very sharp shot with an excellent light and POV. Theres a huge mountain just behind the house which does not rule out the chances of landslides etc.Well done. Perfectly well done. Love it.
All the best,

I've never been to Miami but apparently the color pink for houses, especially the art deco, is very common. Good pov and dof with sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Good quality shot depicting the cute looking houses in intense colors that really sets this apart from the surrounding for sure. Good enough clarity of such an eye-catching simple designed architecture with abundance of details and I love the roof too. The simple straight-on shooting angle works fine, this is indeed simple but it appeals and a joy to view, My congrats.

Bright and bold, this really stands out from the crowd! Not the type of colors that would generally be associated with Switzerland, which is why I think this has even more of a visual impact. The building on the left, and the natural tones from the landscape behind are a wonderful contrast of color, it's a fun mixture of the pallet. :) Looks like you were also able to use a natural arch to help frame the upper corners and the right side of the frame...subtle, but another added touch of contrast to delight. What a neat region, and proudly displayed through this image. Enjoy the new week ahead.
Friendly wishes from Phoenix,

I love how the rocks raise above behind the houses, and the contrast of color between them and the vivid bright houses. Whenever I see houses with the windows boarded like this, I always think they look abandoned, as thats the only time in my own country I see that. I guess thats because we dont get much sun though!
All the best

I call this icecream-pink and orange, Miro.
You managed the view under the arch, meaning you could not go backwards to have a larger scope over from this corner.
Must be impressive to see the colorful houses afoot to the mountain behind.
Nicely spotted the contrast on the stunning colors.

Une note intéressante comme cette image de ces bâtiments colorées avec un arrière plan montagneux, le cadrage qui semble former un arche, bonne présentation

I see the evident paradox of pastels superimposed to backdrop boldness for a stryking exotic eye-catcher!

This photo is both pleasant and curious. It is pleasant because of the interesting color combination; bold colors (pink and orange) vs grey and white. It is curious for the same reason; I would not expect the Swiss to paint their houses with such bold colors. I also like the hint of a natural frame on the right and the upper left.
