[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mother Monika in her sitting room. On the table her dearest documents: the protocol (the large book) and the cloisters founding deed of 1288 (above the book). Here she reads out the report of Alexander Suvorovs arrival, written down by one of her predecessors.

In late 1799 Suvorov and his army on its flight through the alps passed through Moutathal. The small village and the cloister were overstrained by 25'000 exhausted and wounded men. This very room was occupied by the officers, the church was used as horse stable, food supplies prepared for the winter were plundered and after the army left over the next mountain pass, famine and hardship stayed.

More about my visit in the cloister in yesterdays post.

Bravo, I've seen your work before, I'm am modest from your captures- not only this one, but the one of the open book: so glossy, so real, so spiritual.' Don't let this talent slip on the way-side. Many of people would negotiate for this skill, much more for this talent you possess. May God bless your travels, and never be alone.
Thanks,
Michal

a peaceful atmosphere. very equilibrated and impeccable composition. A good job.
Congratulations
Javier

Adrian,
This is a great photograph - and unless I've missed a few things in your gallery - something of a stylistic adventure for you.
Everything here is spot-on; intentionally or accidentally - I don't know - even the dynamic of the two tables mirrors Mother Monika's hands; and the movement in the right hand effectively reveses the depth of field between these two parralels: hands and tables - hemming in and letting go - such a curious symmetry.
Great framing, especially with the little light at the top; like a halo - illuminating "The Protocol" rather than the Mother which, unfortunately, might be the truth of it.
Good shot.
Regards
Colin

Hello Adrian,
I think this is one photo that speaks a lot, that tells a story.
And it is an interesting story. Not one seen too often. Interesting comment too by Colin about the symmetry, which did not come to my mind first. I really like how her hands are "speaking" so much! And, I can't help it, I am mad about old books! :))
The light above has given a nice warm feel to the photo, a golden hue. But, in the same time, it has made your camera in trouble about the white balance. Should I use the "Tungsten" mode or the "Daylight" (or "shade") mode? The little problem here, is that the white became blue. I tried a WS to correct that.
All in all, a photo that I like a lot. Very peaceful feeling for me.

Hi, Adrian.
Very interesting scene.
Your photographs tells a story, show this interesting person and her contexte.
White balance is no good but Claire has already made WS to show how it has to be ;).
Best regards. Grazyna.

An unusual subject today and with great silent power, Adrian. It is like a prayer she lives with, the austere serenity she surrounds herself with. A beautiful, resonant work.
Take care,
sasa
