Photographer's Note

Shot in Schwyz on a very warm day when I decided to see what the heart of Switzerland looks like, at last :)

The site says about Schwyz: "The lively town of Schwyz, capital of the canton with the same name, is home to the Forum of Swiss History and important founding documents of the Swiss Confederation."

It seemed to me on that day that the whole place was either asleep or deep in some sort of siesta :)
While I was there I had a feeling as if the Time was flowing very slowly.

What really made me happy is the absence of tourists!
I only saw 2-3 people with cameras on the main square when I was leaving the town late in the afternoon.

Those very few local people whom I met while walking about the town either looked at me with much curiosity and a smile (because of the camera, I presume), or tried talking to me (in German only) or simply greeted me while driving by.

Briefly speaking, the town made quite a funny impression on me, and, perhaps, if I get a chance I may visit it again.

When I returned to the hotel where I was staying in Luzern, I talked to the lady at the reception and shared my impressions of this town with her, especially the fact that none of those who I talked to in Schwyz knew English.
Her immediate reaction was (with a smile): "No wonder - it is the most typical place in Switzerland! The heart of it!"

Those Swiss people who are reading this Note may either agree or disagree with the lady receptionist :)

PS. Still very sorry - no time for commenting activity, just the time to post a photo :(
