This series of photographs is offering a short journey around Switzerland, a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura, bordering with France, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy.
Switzerland (the Swiss Confederation) consists of following 20 cantons (states) and 6 half-cantons: Aargau, Appenzell Ausserhoden*, Appenzell Innerhoden*, Basel Landschaft*, Basel Stadt*, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Glarus, Graubünden, Jura, Lucerne, Neuchatel, Nidwalden*, Obwalden*, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, Solothurn, St. Gallen, Thurgau, Ticino, Uri, Valais, Vaud, Zug and Zurich (*=half-canton).
From each canton I’ll post 2 photos and from each half-canton 1 photo, total 46 photographs.
The Canton of Schaffhausen is the northernmost canton of Switzerland. It is located north of Canton Zurich and west of Lake Constance. Except short borderline with canton Zurich, the canton of Schaffhausen is almost entirely surrounded by Germany. The capital city is Schaffhausen.
This photo of Rhine Falls was taken from Schaffhausen Rhine side with the view to Laupen, which is located on Zurich side.
The Rhine Falls are the largest waterfalls in Europe and lie on the border of the canton of Schaffhausen and canton of Zurich, located on the Upper Rhine between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhwiesen, near the town of Schaffhausen.
The Rhine Falls are 150 m wide and 23 m high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m³/s, while in the summer the average water flow is 700 m³/s. The highest flow ever measured was 1,250 m³/s in 1965; and the lowest, 95 m³/s in 1921.
The falls cannot be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to worm their way up over the rocks.
Rhine Falls are located 159km northeast from Bern, 52km north from Zurich and 5km southwest from Schaffhausen.

Mighty falls, famouse place and well taken from north bank along, Miro.
What's missing is the constant roar of the stream.
I had been only on the other side, impressive from all sides.

Rhine Falls is an awesome place and you had better luck with weather there than I did. The falls look best from this side, and I like the fact that you have also included a train in this picture. Parasol frames this scene nicely although there's maybe a bit too much of it. The castle wall has somewhat violet tone and greens are rather saturated. Same tones show also on your previous uploads, but I don't really have a recipe to correct them. I checked your web pages and colours on those pictures look right in my eyes.
