Photographer’s Note
Babaland is a region of canton St Gallen situated between the Säntis and the Churfisten mountains, it is known for its nice alpine landscapes as well as for being the 2nd home of our Barbara, hence its name although the area is also more officially known as Toggenburg.
This is where I went yesterday to meet a nice RED family from Bavaria, but before showing more alpine pictures since today is sunday here is the usual Papagolfade, shown here within its context of big swiss village houses. A stitch of 2 is the reason for this somewhat unusual format.
In France we have a saying that putting the church right in the center of the village will bring everything under control, this must apply to Switzerland as well.
Oh, and this happens to be the first Nesslau image ever uploaded to TE, I feel like Indiana Jones now ;-)

It seams to be a very quite town since there is no human presence at all. Where were they? At the Sunday mass? It is a good POV and the light and colours are excellent. Well done.

Hello Jean-Yves,
A good point of view of this splendid alpine church, which seems to sparkle under that interesting sky. Good colours and clarity.

Bon jour Jean Yves, guten Morgen Barbara (photographer first ;-) !
A typical Swiss village square. Everything is clean and in good order ... ;-) This scenery looks quite cosy and you photographed it in a beautiful light. I would like to step into your photo...
Greetings from cool and nearly autumnal Germany!

Bonjour Jean-Yves,
Jean-Charles

Bonjour JY,
I would call this swiss "backwater" at its best - don't get me wrong, I am a great fan of the province!
This composition and your note are a nice gift on a stormy and wet Sunday morning in July.

Hi Jean Yves,
I will just continue writing in English, but you never told me your German is that good!
A very nice shot Jean Yves, great blue sky and wonderful colors, I see, taken with my future lens ;-) Good placement of the papagolfade and great quality as usual. Thanks again for the nice day we spend in Unterwasser and your hints, we have to meet again sometime!
Take care

Hi JY,
very nice and tranquil atmosphere. It looks a peaceful site. Good combination of colors and lights. The tower is well placed in the frame and breaks the sky nicely. Well done!

Hello Jean-Yves,

Hey Indiana, ;-)
you really are a forerunner! Wonderful photo, the first from Nesslau - what can I say? Amazing sky, great pov, sharp and colorful. Simply perfect, as usual. Excellent stitch.
What is a RED family? Are you talking about our sunburn? ;-)
Just wanted you to know that my legs are killing me - "short hike, about 30 minutes..." I *really* should have hijacked that bus!!
Still, I wouldn't have wanted to miss it (obwohl ich leide...). What a great day!
Thanks,
Linda

I love the way you look at architecture in the lap of natural beauty and the way you string them together with such deft photography. great work indeed.

Hello Jean-Yves,
A beautiful church in an appealing clean architecture, nicely located in the middle of this residential area!
Fine light and good details, the point of view that partly exposes the church against the sky works well...
A well balanced composition with rich colours!
