Falling Into the Village Photo

Photographer’s Note

On my way to Obersee, a lake on Oberseealp in the Canton of Glarus, Switzerland, we stop at a lookout point to see the beautiful cities and towns in the valley. I believe the city below is Nafels, perhaps the members from Switzerland can verified the location of the photo for me.

There is a small water falls just behind where I took this photo, hence the title of this image.

Lovely view of the village. The rushing water leads so nicely to the beautifully lit houses and church. I love the strong green of the fields.

Hello Way,
Very beautiful how this little river takes us with to that nice village in the green valley.
Most part of the village is bathing in the sun and the houses are clear and sharp on the picture. We can see the church with its dome very clearly. There are different tones of green and yellow and all by all this is a very inviting Alpine landscape.

very nice composition... liked the depth of field and all the contrasts overall the landscape... also that cloud's shadow in the farest green mountain gives a nice additional break/effect.

I've been many time to Swiss, but never in this area. You found yourself a great pov here with that waterfall floating down in to the valley. Sunlight is very beautiful in the valley on the houses but also in the far background were some snow peaks still are bathing in that same sunlight.
A nice composed image, very good work...

Hello Way! This is a funny title for this lovely image, and it is indeed sometimes just like that and not only the water goes down but you have the feeling of falling when standing there. A very nive vew to this superb valley. A great depth of field with the river in the FG and the mountains with snow in the BG; A picture rich in details. I like too the nuances of the green colors.

Hello Way,

Very nice point of view with the river falling into the valley, leading the eye towards the village further away. Very nice as well how the light starts to be a bit more intense half-way the stream and then putting the main part of the village into the light. Wonderful as well to see the further away mountain, creating a good understanding of the size of it all. Nice work!

Very good depth in this capture of such a nice landscape view of valley and the mountains beyond. Obviously you have found a good spot for this pov, composing the FG water flow and leading down into the valley. My eye naturally leads me to the snow cap at the far end, after veiwing everything else in the valley.

really great shot, I like a lot how the stream of water leads the eye through the sun filled valey and towards the snow covered mountains, this is so very Switzerland :) flawless quality, and I particularly like the play of shadows on the slopes of the mountains, I find it makes the scene more lively. excellent work, my compliments.

Mmmh.. peaceful view, but still full of life and animation, or at least I guess it thanks to this lovely village, in the heart of the mountain.
The light enhances the landscape by giving it nice colours and I like the contrast made by the cloud. The mountain at the background is divine!
Well, my comment is not very original... but it is a lovely composition.
