Photographer’s Note
My suit case is packed … I am on my way to Salt Lake City! It has several reasons why my passion began for this area and I guess it was Trekearth and David Sidwell’s amazing portfolio, mainly photos about Utah where he lives.
We will do some flying from Grand Junction/CO (close to the Utah border) and if time allows I might spy and look what you do on TE ;))) It can also be that we have a drink in the desert with Kristine and Kristaps but they are more or less leaving when we arrive but we have at least each other’s mobile number hopefully shareing some moments over the phone. And we will take care of a cat and some plants for nearly 10 days (house-sit), being responsible for 11 acres of land and a house way way out somewhere above Colorado National Monument, one hour drive away from civilization, okay their neighbour is a veterinarian so in case I break my leg, maybe he can help me too :)))
This picture was taken same as my previous uploads while hiking in a come-and-go fog situation, fascinating and special. I hope you come over such situations yourself … enjoy the early summer days and I see you later … with hopefully some decent pictures … I try my best :)))

HAVE FUN, Barbara!
I deleted all my pictures, that's just the way I am, if I don't like (euphemism) something I won't have anything to do with it, so... as long as the old version works I'll sure pass by to see y'all but I won't be caught dead on the new hypercommercial TE version! This or that, you and I will stay in touch anyway. Give a hug to Utah & Colorado for me! HUGS, see ya later,
Fulvio.

Hallo Barbara,
Helmut

This is stark and wide and very well captured Barbara. I like the textural hues and the way this one has been captured. Nice lovely composition

Hello Barbara,
Well hiking in Sankt Gallen mustn'tbe such a foreign place for you! :o)
This is a typical hiking scene in the Swiss Alps with the silhouettes of the hikers cutting against the blue sky. I like the big white cloud in the background that seems to be moving in on them.
I wish you all the best for your holidays and hope you'll have great weather for flying and taking photos!
Cheers.

Hi Barbara
Into the fog. Another simple but effective composition. To me the clouds/fog are what create tension here. Well done. Enjoy your trip. We are going to Utah in September.
Cheers

Barbara,
...and just over that ridge lies the promised land! Way out above Colorado NM probably is the promised land in all honesty.
Be sure to lean out of a plane or two with a camera in your hand!
Hope to catch up with you in the homeland in July!
Have a good one.

i like the simplicity
a minimalistic landscape, and the depth is provided by the curve of the path and the people

Barbara, nice capture, I love these shots of activities that I would like to be participating in. Lovely hill and while the scene is sort of generally bare it makes me think that "over the the next hill..." Sort of why I carry a camera most everywhere I go these days. Good work.

Hello Barbara,
so you are in USA, grrrrrrr.....
I want to go one day, soon or later.
This is an image in your unmistakable style. Elegant and well composed as all your images, with great natural colours and a magnificent POV.
People insertion is perfect and give vitality to the scene.
A dear hug my friend.
Warm regards.

Hi Barbara,
The full rounded curve of path, emphasized by the hikers, leads the the curve of the hillside and into the cloud. All those curves give a sumptuous feeling to the compo.
I found the answer to my travel questions by reading your updated profile - house sitting is a nice way to travel - it sounds like a great trip.

Hello Barbara,
This is a very typical scene I see often when travalling in Switzerland. especially on a nice sunny day. Such a wonderful tradition, it keeps you healthy and strong and get in touch with nature. Then again you do have wonderful landscape and maybe that why people love to go hiking as often. I love how they are walking toward the top into the cloud. It' like heaven, beautiful and pristine.
I'm sure you see very different in Utah. Red and some green and maybe snow still, and lake. Have fun.

hi there :)
pity we didn't have time to meet, but now that we've "tasted" Utah, I have a strong suspicion we'll be back there in no time :)
as others have noted, this is your trademark - minimalistic and elegant, and very clear about what you want to show - a journey, and it doesn't matter if it takes 2 hours, 2 weeks or 2 lifetimes.
hope you're having good time, I'm sure you read our complaints about the weather :(
best,
Kristine

Hallo Babara
A nice minimalist shot with a good sweeping curve & the 4 hikers add a welcome human element. Fantastic sharpness & superb perspective added by the walking trail. Tfs!

Hallo Barbara!

You really are the mistress of minimalism. I love the gentle slope of the hill and the relatively small hikers. On the face of it, it seems a simple composition, but you framed it perfectly so the smooth curve of the barely discernable path leading the way to the 'summit', emerges from the bottom corner.
I hope to see some US images from you soon!

Hello Barbara
A simple photo and the 4 hikers are almost stepping off the edge! The curved track and the wild flowers growing amongst the green grass make this an attractive composition. Tfs, Marlene
