Photographer’s Note
It SNOWS right now … again! Heavy big wet snowflakes. Some days before my friends were staying at my weekend home. I hope they had the same fun. Funny enough, there is always something when they are in our house. Last year the fridge gave up, this time the heating system broke down, one other year Tom lost his car key in the snow (he shovelled for several hours … and found the key) and one time he slipped backwards into the house on an icy driveway, they reorganize my kitchen or in fall they moved mattresses from one room to the other (I mean this is such a hassle and I am still curious what reason this had but, you know, sometimes you cannot always ask EVERYTHING … LOL …) but they are wonderful and yes sometimes a little complicated but so is everybody different, isn’t it. But when we arrive, there is always a table full of wonderful things, a good DVD, a bottle of Champagne, a nice cake … yes we are spoilt in many ways.
Sparkling … because it was the very first day in 2009, and yes I had some Champagne … but also the air, it felt fresh and wonderful on your skin.

Hi Baba,
Mark

Hi Barbara,
Simple yet elegant. It must be wonderful to have your own ski slope right outside your front door.

What a fabulous winter landscape Barbara, the snow is so pure that just one steep over it breaks all the composition.
Best regards.

Hello Barbara,
One more great "minimalist" winter picture.
The light on the snow shows many details.

Delicate, elegant, absolutely charming, it bears all of the baba flies' trademarks. And that's why I love it! Have a wonderful evening, a big hug from me and a high-5 paw from doggie. See ya soon,

Hi Barbara,
You may already be in your dreamland somewhere at this time on Sunday, dreaming of warmer places. it's kind of hard to just from red hot warm color desert of your last post to this snow blue cold and glistening snow, :) temperature shock! Aaah. I like this, it looks like a large ocean of wave against the blue sky, all the markers look like sail boats. Love the smoot pattern of the snow yet there are fine texture in the snow, I know I don't do well in the cold, bet even this make me dream of being there, as long as I get to go insdie after a few minute and a cup of hot Ovaltine and some sweet pastries, and I can watch the snow fall from the inside :) Oh, and a fire please. Thank you.

Morgen Barbara,

Claudia

Hi Barbara,
There has to be quite a lot of snow to hide all the uneven details in the ground, leaving just the grainy texture of snow to be admired. And they are well visible on this thanks to exact exposure. Looks like you'll get floods in spring with all that snow.

Hi Barbara
A classic but simple composition. Well exposed as we can see detail in the snow without the smow becoming to gray.
Hope you enjoyed your champagne.

Hi Barbara,
Liebe Grüße as dem in Schnee versinkenden Buchenberg,

Hi Barbara,
Hmm... Winter in Europe isn't my favourite seazon of year (I prefer much higher temperatures), but in your picture this winter landscapes is really beautiful. The ocean of snow, crystal clear snow, makes an impression on me... Simple but interesting capture.

Hi Barbara,
Another masterpiece of simplicity is this richly textured winter landscape with the cloudless blue sky casting its lovely shadows on the freshly fallen snow.
Those long poles add fine definition and scale to this lovely vertical presentation.

Hi Barbara,
A crisp, fresh image! I like it with the smooth sections of untouched snow and the simplicity with those few poles sticking out and guiding our eyes along the line. Looks very cold when I am sitting here in the warm African heat... ;o)

this shot has "BARBARA" written all over it :) your trademark - sparkling snow, pure blue sky, undulating shapes, minimalism taken to the maximum without losing the sense of reality, just few accents... love it, but that's no news for you. and once again I'm very impressed with the quality, the exposure is spot on, cannot be easy with the reflected light, but you managed it perfectly. crispy cold and fresh, the winter at its best :)

Kristine

hey, there Barbara. i see, fine winter minimalism again? no hysterical, flying turkeys though... at times, those are nice additions to scenes like this ;)
kristine is right, this one has 'barbara' written all over it in RED, flashing letters...
definitely you have managed to capture the freshness in this one.
warm regards

Hallo liebe Barbara,
Schlicht, einfach aber einmalige graphische Wirkung !
Perfectes Blickwinkel und saher sanfte Strukturen. Vertikales Format war der richtige Wahl.

Bonjour,
Bon partage.
Amitiés Thomas
