Photographer’s Note

Taken from a fast moving train, early in a winter morning i past St. Georges Chapel near Berschis. The chapel is said to be all that remains of an early medieval fortified church complex. Archaeological finds indicate that the site was a Roman defence post in the classical period. From its point about 150 meters above the valley one can imagine the once strategic importance of the site.
