Merry Christmas TE ! Photo

Photographer’s Note

I break my silent retreat to wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays with this image of the big Xmas tree installed near St Gallen Cathedral, this is the region where I now have relocated and hard work keeps me away from spending time taking pictures, but I used the chance to get that one at the blue hour when the lights turn magic.

St Gallen which is a rather obscure city although listed on the UNESCO World Heritage tries to profile itself as THE Xmas city of Switzerland, which includes this nice big tree and a Xmas market very nice for Switzerland but not quite up to Alsatian standards.

Eh bien on peut dire que c'est la journée des grands retours aujourd'hui! :o)
Tu n'es pas tout à fait dans les couleurs du jour (mais je vois que tu peux encore poster une autre photo pour Marie). On ne t'en voudra pas car on est content de te voir et puis c'est tout de même une belle photo de saison avec ce sapin et cette église qui représentent à la fois le côté païen et religieux de cette fête.
Contente de voir que tu retrouves un peu de temps pour TE, et merci pour l'invitation à FB ! :o))

Du machst mich fertig :))) Blauer Himmel, was blauer Himmel, hier ist das grosse Grau-in-Grau!!! Von diesem Baum habe ich gelesen, was ist der, der groesste Baum oder der schoenste Baum, ich habe es schon wieder vergessen ... Wunderschoenes Weihnachtsfoto und das Moendli macht die Sache noch etwas Spezieller. Kaum in St. Gallen und schon machst Du die blaue Stunde zu Deiner Stunde ... toll wie immer! Good night scene Jean Yves. The exposure was really well controlled. That glowing moon is a wonderful detail. Or maybe it's the Star of Bethlehem announcing the birth of the Child Jesus. Anyway, a very nice photo for this season.

So good to see one of your great photos again!
This is a great blue hour shot with the moon nicely placed between the tree and tower. The golden light on the Cathedral and tree are nicely contrasted by the deep blue sky.

Au de là des aspects tecniques - sous les quels je devrais observer que l'edifice religieux est pas parfaitemente aligné à la verticale (mais dans ce domaine on a chaq'un son gout..) mais aussi souligner l'exposition parfaite et la grande nétteté du cadrage, je trouve cette image agréable et charmante, riche en atmosphere et convenable à l'occasion feteuse.
Donc je te remercie pour le partage et te souhaite un Joyeux Noël.

Olá JY, good to see you here for the Christmas TE party ;-) Spectacular postcard for this festive season as should be expected in your gallery. The sparkling tree seems tiny in the presence of the imposing church, but even its towers leaned back a bit to show us better the shining full moon.

I have visited this charming town some time ago.
Beautiful shot.
Amazing quality I guess as expected when shooting with L lens.
I like the composition, not only the moon but even more the tree with Christmas decoration. Exposure is perfect.
I think you were correcting the perspective, and it is straight but always after this kind of correction the towers seem a bit deformed.
