Beautiful scenery. The light and soft colors here are very special. I like the ideia o big space and solitide in it, the warm cabin waiting for the tired visitor to arrive to warm it up. Feelings so particular to this season...

Hello again, Barbara. I find this one to be very striking and full of light and colour. The sky is magnificent against the whiteness of the snow and silhouetted trees. I like very much the little splashes of colour given by the poles, and the way the snow just below the horizon is in shade. Very good and pleasing shot!

Hi Barbara, I see that this picture was taken Jan 2006. Does that mean that you still didn't have the well deserved snow? I see here a line of denuded trees, a line of orange snow poles, a single house and the wonderful clouds in the background giving an excellent contrast to the clean snow in the foreground. Nice, silent composition.

You do have a very special way with snow as well as mountains. The snow blown smooth by wind is lovely in the sunlight. Good contrast with the near-silhouettes of the trees and the fog bank hugging the ground. HLJ, Pat

What makes this scene is the fog, which rolls in from the right like a brewing storm. The snow in the FG is like a sea of white, with the textures quite brilliantly caught. The red pole amidst all the white & the barren trees like ghostly sentinels are fine additions to the picture. Well framed & well captured winter post.

I do like the "not much", Barbara. You made the snow come out actually a natural white, not always an easy thing to do. The trees are nicely placed and they accent the sky. Perhaps you could crop off two thirds or so of the snow, for an alternative use of the scene (to supplement, not to replace this one.) Regards, Ken.

hello, barbara. no, no, no, i don't want this... just a few more warm days. please... just kidding around. actually, i find your winter landscape to be very soothing. i like the contrast of the cloudy sky agianst the bright white of the snow. the red poles provide intersting accents to your shot. my compliments.

p.s. on a nitpicky note, this is the sort of a composition that asks for something subtle but a bit more pronounced somewhere in the foreground to give more 3D feeling to the picture.

hi Barbara,
while I'm waiting for a new post from you, I decided to browse through your older photos. your trademark winter scene, you know I like a lot your minimalistic style. just few trees, a house, orange poles - et voila, you have a moody winter photo :) sometimes I wish winter was right now so I could try your approach. but I bet when the winter really starts I'll be complaining about the cold and demanding sunshine and +25C :)
